SEDGWICK COUNTY —&nbsp;The Sedgwick County Sheriff’s Office has identified the man whose body was recovered Friday, Aug. 21, from KDOT East Lake as 44-year-old Michael Brandon Goering of Wichita, according to sheriff's department spokesman Branden Stitt.

Goering’s family reported him missing to the Wichita Police Department early Friday morning. Family members indicated he may have been experiencing a mental health crisis.

At approximately 1:42 p.m. Friday, law enforcement and firefighters responded after visitors reported seeing a body in KDOT East Lake in the 1400 block of East 45th Street North. Firefighters recovered Goering’s body from the water.

The Sedgwick County Coroner’s Office has completed an autopsy. The cause and manner of death remain pending toxicology results.

The investigation remains active pending the coroner’s findings.
