Nathan "Nate Dog" Ray McFarland, 34, passed away Sunday, October 23, 2022 at Ascension Via Christi St. Francis in Wichita. He was born November 30, 1987 in Dallas, Texas to Don Ray and Ruth Margaret (Hoeme) McFarland.

Nathan graduated from Haviland High School in 2006. He worked for his Uncle Luke through High School and early adulthood, he was a Foreman for Crescent and most recently Manager of Crazy Mule restaurant and catering in Greensburg. He was a member of The American Quarter Horse Association. He loved and enjoyed every minute he had spending time with his daughters, Max and Oakley. He also enjoyed interacting with people, fishing, playing men's league basketball with his brother. He loved watching Dallas Cowboys football, horses and his dogs, Dozer and June. He had just purchased a brood mare and he was starting his own breeding operation. He was known for his multiple snapchats that he sent daily. Nathan was a true and powerful Patriot of his beloved United States.

He is survived by his mother, Ruth McFarland of Pratt; daughters, Emmarie "Max" Maxine McFarland and Oakley Dawn Polok both of Pratt; brother, Tanner (Victoria) McFarland of Pratt; sister, Adrein McFarland of Pratt; grandmother, Deanna Hoeme of Preston; uncles, Eric (Deanne) Hoeme of Garden City, Luke (Tammie) Hoeme of Preston and Eddie (Diana) McFarland of St. John; aunts, Tina (Stan) Norris and Dana Tripp both of Pratt; niece, Reese McFarland; nephew, Rhett McFarland; cousins, Julia (Patrick) Robb, Addie Hoeme, Allie Hoeme, Weston Hoeme, Crystal (Jeff) Shanline, Brian (April) Marteney, Jammy (Samantha) Divine, Tabatha Blackburn and Isaac Divine; and best friend, Jake Bertram of Salina.

Nathan is preceded in death by his father, Don Ray McFarland, Jr.; grandparents, Ewald Hoeme and Don and Gloria McFarland, Sr.; cousin, Robert Divine; and infant cousin, Eddie Ray McFarland.

Visitation will be Thursday, October 27, 2022 from 9:00 a.m. - 8:00 p.m. with family receiving friends from 5-7 at Larrison Mortuary, 300 Country Club Rd, Pratt. Funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, October 28, 2022 at Larrison Mortuary, Pratt with John Hamm presiding. Burial will follow at Iuka Cemetery, Iuka.
