Gregory Herman Kowalsky, 61, passed away in Wichita, KS on May 22, 2023 with family by his side.
Born in Great Bend, KS on June 2, 1961 he was the son of Herman Joseph & MaryAnn (Klepper) Kowalsky. A lifetime Ellinwood resident Greg attended St. Joseph grade school, Ellinwood HS, and later graduated from St. John military academy. (1979) Greg worked as a police officer in Ellinwood and Great Bend manufacturing before working for the City of Ellinwood for over 25 years until retirement. He married Lori Starnes in Buena Vista, CO on September 5, 2012 at Rainbow Trout Lake. She survives of the home.
Survivors include wife, Lori Kowalsky, Ellinwood, KS; sister, Gail Ann Geer, Topeka, KS; 5 nieces; 10 great-nieces and nephew; and 4 great-great nieces and nephews as well as many respected friends and co-workers throughout the years. Greg also leaves behind their dog Bear.
Greg was preceded in death by his parents; and sisters, Marla Macy and Barbara Kowalsky.
Funeral service will take place at Minnis Chapel on Friday, May 26 at 10:00 a.m. followed by interment at Lakin-Comanche Cemetery in Ellinwood. (dress will be blue jean casual)
Visitation will take place at Minnis Chapel Thursday, May 25 from noon to 7 p.m. with family receiving friends from 6 to 7 p.m. Memorials are suggested to Gregg Kowalsky funeral fund in care of Minnis Chapel, PO Box 246, Ellinwood, KS 67526.
