L.J. Roberts, Jr. “Pinky”, 82, died Thursday, March 13, 2025 at Hospice House, Hutchinson. Born June 18, 1942 at Wellington he was the son of Lawrence James, Sr. and Mary Florence Blake Roberts. He was a professional pilot and owner of Robert’s Flying Service in Sylvia. On November 10, 1962 he married Judy Marie Moeckel in Rural Sylvia.
He is survived by his wife: Judy. Children: Jim (Pamela) Roberts and Tina (David) McComb. Brother: Steve Roberts. Sister: Barbara Peck. 4 grandchildren: Aubrey (Josiah) Cauthorn, Lawson (Jenny) Roberts, Bronc (Angela) Barnhizer and Brooke (Joe) Stover. 5 great-grandchildren: Carter and Stella Stover, Zuri Barnhizer, Noriah and Thane Cauthorn. He was preceded in death by his parents, and brother: Gregory.
Funeral service will be 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, March 18 at Minnis Chapel, Stafford. Visitation will be 1-7 p.m. Monday with the family receiving friends 5-7 p.m. at Minnis Chapel, Stafford. Burial will be at Stafford Cemetery. Memorials may be sent to the Hospice House of Hutchinson in care of the chapel.
