Spivey under boil water advisory

Posted Aug 23, 2021 9:16 PM

SPIVEY, Kan. — The Kansas Department of Health and Environment (KDHE) has issued a boil water advisory for the small town of Spivey in Kingman County. This advisory is not related to Covid-19.

The advisory took effect on Monday, Aug. 23 and will remain in effect until the conditions that placed the system at risk of bacterial contamination are resolved. KDHE issued the advisory because of a loss of pressure in the distribution system.

Failure to maintain adequate pressure may result in a loss of chlorine residuals and bacterial contamination.

The advisory will stay in place until the KDHE determines that the water supply is safe.
