Mark Depperschmidt, 72, passed away February 28, 2025, at his farm home in Langdon, Kansas.
He was born October 8, 1952, to Alfred and Viola (Herrman) Depperschmidt in La Crosse, Kansas. He graduated from La Crosse High School, La Crosse, Kansas, in 1971. After graduation he attended Barton County Community College, Great Bend, Kansas. He had a lengthy career of various jobs including work at Fisher Transmission, contract painter, welder, oil pumper, and finally plastic worker and machinist in McPherson, Kansas.
The past 20 years he has enjoyed his dream of being a farmer. He was an avid reader on many different topics. When he wasn't busy with his cattle and two dogs he enjoyed going to farm auctions He always made deeper connections with animals than he did with people. He had a small circle of friends that he visited on a regular basis just to “chew the fat”.
Survivors include four brothers, James (Theresa), Sylvia, Kansas, Neil, Liberal, Kansas, Melvin, Topeka, Kansas, and Paul, Liebenthal, Kansas; two sisters, Cheryl Resner (Gerald) Great Bend, Kansas, and Ruth Schaffer Arvada, Colorado; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, John; and one brother in law.
Rosary will be Monday, March 24, 2025, at 10:00 A.M. at St. Michael’s Catholic Church, La Crosse, Kansas.
Memorial service will be Monday, March 24, 2025, at 10:30 A.M. at St. Michael’s Catholic Church, La Crosse, Kansas, with Father Stephen Dabanka officiating. Inurnment will be in the La Crosse City Cemetery, La Crosse, Kansas.
In lieu of flowers or plants, the family request memorials to St. Michael’s Catholic Church, La Crosse, Kansas.
