The Hutchinson USD 308 Board of Education will meet Monday, Oct. 27, at 6 p.m. at the district’s Administration Center, 1520 N. Plum, to review several key items including a new professional development plan, equipment replacement at the Hutchinson Career and Technical Education Academy, and financial reports for September.
The board will discuss the districts Professional Development Plan. Director of Human Resources Julie Schrum will present the district's plan. The plan aligns with the Kansas Education Systems Accreditation (KESA) 2.0 framework and will support staff growth and instructional improvement.
Also on the agenda, is the replacement of a rooftop unit at the Hutchinson Career and Technical Education Academy. The unit in question is original to when the building was built and has a hole in one of the coils and no longer holds refrigerant. The unit serves most of the first-floor classrooms.
The bid from Trane U.S.A. is for $94,624.
Items under the superintendent’s consent agenda include the treasurer's report for September, Head Start Federal Financial and Property reports for fiscal year 2024-25, the annual Lightspeed Renewal, grant approvals and gifts to schools from community partners and donors.
Administration is seeking approval to renew Lightspeed Filter and Alert Subscription through Lightspeed Systems. The Lightspeed Filter product is used across the District for Internet filtering, which is required for compliance with the Children’s Internet Protection Act (CIPA) and the Federal Erate program.
Lightspeed Alert services provide student online safety alerting for Principals and counselors. This purchase will renew Lightspeed Filter and Alert Subscription for one year. The cost of the renewal is $21,129.90.
Also on the agenda is an executive session to discuss personnel matters pursuant to the non-elected personnel exception under the Kansas Open Meetings Act.
Following the session, the board will consider approval of the district’s personnel report before adjourning.
