
HUTCHINSON, Kan. — The Hutchinson Recreation Commission (Hutch Rec) in partnership with the Downtown Hutch Rod Run, are bringing back the popular community festival Hutch Fest in Fall 2023.
Hutch Fest will take place Oct. 6 and 7 in Downtown Hutchinson and will include feature events as well as live music, family-friendly community activities, food, and various entertainment.
At this time, featured events include:
The annual Downtown Hutchinson Rod Run & Classic Car Show. It will start at noon on Friday, Oct. 6 and continue through the evening of Oct. 7.
This two-day event features hot rods, classic and antique cars, trucks, and motorcycles, as well as a Show & Shine, Main Street Cruise, vendor demonstrations, food trucks, and more.

The Hutch Rec Foundation will be hosting the 3rd annual Brewfest: A Craft Beer Festival, presented by First Bank Kansas. This event will take place in front of the Wiley Plaza on 1st Avenue.
Proceeds from the event benefit the Hutch Rec Foundation, a nonprofit organization whose mission is to support Hutch Rec by advocating for program improvements and recreational opportunities through charitable giving.
Brewfest will feature a dozen craft breweries from across the state. Then new in 2023, will be a special Homebrewer’s Competition.

Hutch Fest event partners also are asking for community involvement with the festival, and are seeking civic groups, businesses, and organizations to help plan and host community activities. Interested hosts are invited to let their creativity shine as they will be responsible for the development of activities while Hutch Rec assists in the coordination.
Civic groups, businesses, and organizations interested in hosting activities may pick up a Host Submission Form at Hutch Rec located at 17 E. 1st Ave., or download and fill out the form online on the Hutch Fest web page.
Submissions are due by Aug. 18 at Hutch Rec. Hutch Rec is open Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
