OSAGE COUNTY—Law enforcement are investigating a suspect on multiple allegations after a violent incident in Osage County.

Just after 6:30a.m. Tuesday, the Osage County Communications Center received a 911 call requesting a welfare check at 1132 Laing Street in Osage City, Kansas, according to Osage County Sheriff Chris Wells.

As a precaution, the surrounding area was evacuated to ensure the safety of nearby residents. The Osage County Sheriff's Office Special Response Team responded to the scene, along with the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office and Ottawa Police Department’s STAR Team.

Following efforts to resolve the situation, members of the Special Response Team entered the residence and took Chaffin into custody without incident. Chaffin was transported to the Osage County Jail Facility and booked on requested charges Domestic battery, Aggravated endangering a child, Criminal discharge of a firearm, Possession of a firearm while under the influence, Criminal threat, Interference with law enforcement, Distribution of marijuana, Distribution of drug paraphernalia and No drug tax stamp

The two-year-old child was safely reunited with family members and was not injured.
