Paul (Butch) Henry Hugot Gibbs |1945-2024|

Paul (Butch) Henry Hugot Gibbs, 79, passed away June 18, 2024 in Ruskin, Florida. Butch was born to Pauline Marie Eversole and Paul Hugot on January 30, 1945 in Dodge City, Kansas.

His first 17 years were spent in Dodge City. He then moved to Zook, Kansas while attending and graduating from Macksville High School. After graduation, he worked farming. He moved to Larned, Kansas where he met and married the love of his life, Wanda Marie Smith on December 12, 1964. He and Wanda moved to Hutchinson, Kansas in 1968. He worked at General Heating and Air Conditioning. Later he worked at Doskocil in refrigeration maintenance.

Butch enjoyed golf and taking trips on his motorcycle until his health would no longer allow it. He also enjoyed fishing, playing pool, and playing poker. He will be greatly missed by all the friends he made doing these activities.

The other loves in his life were his son, David, daughter in law, Christina, and grandsons, Colton and Connor.

He lived in Hutchinson, Kansas until December 2021 when he moved to Ruskin, Florida to be closer to David and family.

Survivors include his wife, Wanda, son David, daughter in law Christina, grandsons Colton and Connor, all Ruskin, FL; five sisters, Lavinia Houdeshell, Hutchinson, KS, Sandy Clausen, Canada, Bonita Sickafoose, Montana, Donita Larson, Montana, Carolyn Lugenbeel, Florida; six brothers, Mike Montgomery, Oklahoma, Jeff Boles, Kansas, Tommy Hammons, Montana, Warren Hammons, Montana, Gary Gibbs, Colorado, Duff Gibbs, Wisconsin; as well as many nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews.

He was preceded in death by his mother, father; two brothers, Roy Hammons, Charles Hammons; four sisters, June Phillips, Allie Gibbs, Tammy Grevelee, and Bessie Hammons.

Cremation has taken place. A celebration of life may be scheduled at a later date.
