David J. "Dave" Clark |1940-2025|

David J. Clark, 84, of South Hutchinson, died September 10, 2025, at Mennonite Friendship Communities. He was born December 26, 1940, in Oakley, KS, the son of Cecil and Thelma (Fisher) Clark.

Dave attended Plainville High School. He worked at Namee Wholesale, Consolidated Mfg., and RCAT. Dave retired as a Durham School bus driver and attendant. He was a member of Westside Baptist Church. Dave served in the Kansas Army National Guard from 1962-1968.

Dave was an avid sports follower, especially the KU Jayhawks, KC Chiefs, and Hutchinson High School. He was always interested to hear how the grandkids were doing.

Dave is survived by: wife, Doris Schadler-Clark; son, David (Cindy) Clark of Hutchinson; daughters, Julie (Terry) Bland of Kaw City, OK, Tina (Stanley) Martin of Fredonia, FL; 8 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; bonus children, Nancy Thomas of Kechi, Melanie Hefton of Hutchinson, Rhonda (Arley) Philbrick of Hutchinson, Melvin (Donna) Schadler of Sterling; 7 bonus grandchildren; 20 bonus great-grandchildren; and 3 bonus great-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers Delmar and Clinton.

Per his request, cremation has taken place and a private family inurnment was held.

A Celebration of Life service will be held 1 p.m. Tuesday, September 16, 2025, at Elliott Chapel, with Pastor Tim Adrian officiating. Military honors will be conducted by the Kansas Army National Guard Honor Guard.

Friends may sign his memorial book from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday thru Monday at Elliott Mortuary. The family will greet friends an hour prior to the service.

In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to Mennonite Friendship Communities or Westside Baptist Church, in care of Elliott Mortuary, 1219 N. Main, Hutchinson, KS 67501.

The family would sincerely like to thank the staff at Mennonite Friendship Communities and Hospice of Reno County for their kindness, compassion, affection, and loving care of David during the last years of his life.
