HUTCHINSON, Kan. — New life was brought into the world on opening day at the Kansas State Fair Friday. Kansas State University veterinary students helped deliver two female lambs in the birthing center on Friday afternoon.

In addition to seeing new life born, fairgoers have an opportunity for a more in-depth view of Kansas livestock. At the top of each hour, professional livestock company Moo U gives about a 40 minute guided tour of each livestock building on the fairgrounds.

"[We] tell the folks about general livestock, where their food comes from and also talk about some of the by-products that we get from them that all of us use every day in our daily lives," said  Jeannene Xanthus, owner of Moo U.

Moo U is based out of Celeste, Texas and is the only professional livestock tour company in the United States. The birthing center and other buildings featuring live animals are located on 20th Ave.
