
Janice ‘Jan’ Lynette Stiggins Landon Richardson, 77, died September 8, 2023, at Hutchinson Regional Medical Center. She was born August 2, 1946 in Hutchinson, the daughter of Max Lynn and Clara Naomi (O’ Hara) Stiggins.
Jan was a 1964 graduate of Partridge Rural High School. She had three careers, first as a finance company manager for 20 years, then as a volunteer coordinator for CASA for 12 years, and lastly retiring as a district manager of the Reno County Conservation District after 17 years of service.
Jan had many passions and hobbies in her lifetime. She loved genealogy, scrapbooking, collecting Pez, Star Wars, M&Ms and McDonald’s happy meal toys. She was an avid KC Royals, KC Chiefs, and NASCAR fan. Topping everything, she loved spending time with her grandchildren and great- grandchildren. Jan was currently a member of Partridge Community Church.
On April 1, 1965, Jan married Perry Landon. They later divorced. She then married Dean Richardson on July 4, 1987 in Partridge. They shared 35 great years of marriage, prior to his death on July 31, 2022.
Jan is survived by: her son, Terry (Toni) Landon of Hutchinson; grandchildren, Jessica (Greg) Woodyard, Turner Landon (fiancé Kaylee) of Hutchinson; great- grandchildren, Jovie Harrison, Jhett and Jagson Woodyard of Hutchinson; sister, Vicki (Brad) Galloway of Partridge; special sisters, Gwen Brown and Mary Winter of Hutchinson; special brother, Walt Burling of Partridge; dog, Princess Leia; grand dog, Maverick; great- grand dog, Ice; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
She was preceded in death by: her husband, Dean; parents, Lynn and Naomi Stiggins; sister, Ginger Stiggins; special aunts, Jeaneen Taplin and Virginia Packebush; canine companions, Byron and Chewbacca.
Cremation has taken place. Memorial service will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, September 18, 2023, at Elliott Chapel with Reverend Sheridan Irick officiating. A private burial will take place at a later date. Friends may sign her book from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Saturday and the family will receive friends 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Sunday, September 17, 2023, at Elliott Mortuary.
