PRATT, Kan. — Quick thinking by the homeowner limited the damage in a Pratt house fire Monday night.
According to Pratt Fire, crews were called out to 324 Curtis Street at 7:14 p.m. Monday. All the residents got out safely when the homeowner heard a popping noise and went to the back of house to check it out and found fire coming from an exterior wall.
The homeowner then quickly shut off the power to the house and firefighters were able to locate the source as electrical in the walls at the rear of the home and pulled the siding and insulation spraying with water and F500 foam.
The department's thermal imaging camera was used checking temps for any hot spots. No one was hurt.
