Karen Postier passed away on February 4, 2024 at 82 years of age after a long battle with Parkinson’s disease.

Born Karen Kay Krien on July 1, 1941 to John and Francis Krien of St. Francis KS.  Karen was the oldest daughter of five children.  She moved to Wichita after graduating from St. Francis High School in 1960.  She worked at Wesley Hospital as a nurse’s aide.

She met LeRoy Postier, they fell in love and were married on March 10, 1962.  LeRoy and Karen were married for nearly 62 years and had two children,  Karen was a very loving wife and mother. She loved her grandchildren very much.

Karen was an avid gardener and cook and found humor in most things.  She retired from Valley Center schools after 32 years of service.

She was preceded in death by her parents John and Francis Krien, her youngest brother Ronnie and his wife Janice Krien and brother-in-law Paul O’Dell.

Karen is survived by husband LeRoy of Valley Center, son Brent Postier and wife Jill of Wichita, daughter Brenda and husband Steve Goeken of Johnstown NE; grandsons Cody Tharp of Geuda Springs KS, Clinton Tharp of Ainsworth NE, Michael Tharp of Wichita and Matthew Postier of Wichita, granddaughter Casey and husband Logan Self of Maize KS and five great grandchildren; brothers Ken and wife Sheri Krien of Bird City KS,  Loyd Krien of Sulphur OK, and sister Lois O’Dell of Clinton MO.

Service will be held at Faith Church, 325 N Emporia, Valley Center on Wednesday, February 14 ,2024 at 11:00.  Graveside service will follow at Hillside Cemetery, Sedgwick Kansas.
