Rodney Paul White, Sr., 77, died on August 20, 2025, at Hospice House, Hutchinson. He was born January 4, 1948, in Hutchinson, to James R. and Betty Jean (Hoffman) White, Sr.

Rodney graduated from Buhler High School in 1966. Following his graduation, he served in the United States Army for two years, during the Vietnam War. Rodney was awarded the Purple Heart and Bronze Star with Valor for his heroism and service to his country. After the Army, he worked at Collingwood Grain Elevator as an operator for over 20 years. Rodney later worked as a paint mixer for Color By Design, Haven, for 15 years. He was very crafty and liked woodworking, making airplanes out of cans and other hand-crafted hobbies. Rodney enjoyed fishing and spending time with his friends at the VFW Post #1361 and American Legion Lysle Rishel Post #68, where he was a member. 

In 1972, he married Mona Lisa “Pinky” Snell. They shared over 43 years together, prior to her death on October 1, 2015.

Rodney is survived by: his children, Jamie White, Ronnie Taylor, both of Hutchinson; grandchildren, Beth Marie White of Missouri, Jaden Rae White and Anakin James White, both of Hutchinson; siblings, James (Brenda) White, Jr. of Buhler, Joyce White of Hutchinson, Cindy (Mike) Allenbach of Inman, Sandy (Brent) Robinson-King of South Hutchinson; sisters-in-law, Jody Levene and Bobbie Rogers, both of Hutchinson; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by: his parents; wife, Mona “Pinky” White; children, Rodney Paul White, Jr. and Rhonda Snyder.

Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Private family inurnment will take place in Memorial Park Cemetery, Hutchinson. Friends may sign his book from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Thursday through Wednesday, at Elliott Mortuary. Cremation has taken place.
