
TOPEKA, Kan. — If you are applying for energy bill assistance through the Low Income Energy Assistance Program and would like one-on-one support completing your application, there are events in the area during the application period between Dec. 18 and March 29.
Events are Dec. 19 from 9 a.m. to Noon at The Front Porch at 115 E 4th St in Pratt, Jan. 3, 2024 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the McPherson Library at 214 W. Marlin in McPherson, Feb. 7 from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. at the Newton Library at 720 N Oak in Newton and Feb.8 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Hutchinson Public Library at 901 N Main in Hutchinson.
Be sure to bring with you your identification, proof of income and current utility bills. Partnering energy companies will be in attendance at most events in the areas that they provide energy services to Kansans.
They are Atmos Energy, Black Hills Energy, Evergy and Kansas Gas Services. LIEAP restores or maintains electricity, natural gas, propane and other home heating fuels. Applications will be accepted through the last business day in March.
