The Big 12 Conference has announced that a limited number of tickets will be made available for the 2021 Phillips 66 Big 12 Men’s Basketball Championship, scheduled for March 10-13 at T-Mobile Center in Kansas City, Missouri.

Each ticket includes all five (5) sessions for the 2021 Phillips 66 Big 12 Men’s Basketball Championship. Tickets go on sale Friday, February 26 at Noon CT&nbsp;online only at T-MobileCenter.com.

Seating capacity for the Big 12 Men’s Basketball Championship will be reduced in accordance with guidelines from local public health officials including utilizing a Pod Seating structure. As an additional precaution, masks are required for guests at all times, except when actively eating or drinking in their seats, unless otherwise exempted by law. Pods are available in groups of 1-8 and will be physically distanced from one another. Pods must be purchased in their entirety and may not be divided. The Hutchinson Community College volleyball team served aggressively and extended their winning streak to six on Tuesday night at the Sports Arena.

The Blue Dragons had a season high with 14 aces in a 3-1 Jayhawk West victory (25-13, 25-9, 18-25, 25-16) over the Colby Trojans at the Sports Arena.

Hutchinson improved to 12-5 overall and 5-2 in the Jayhawk West. The Blue Dragons play host to Garden City on Thursday and will be at Seward County on Sunday. Colby falls to 4-3 and 2-2 in the KJCCC.

Hutchinson's previous high for service aces was 13, done twice against Trinidad State and Dodge City. Sophomore&nbsp;<a href="https://bluedragonsports.com/sports/wvball/2020-21/bios/price_chloe_rbgs">Chloe Price</a>&nbsp;tied a career high with five aces. Freshman&nbsp;<a href="https://bluedragonsports.com/sports/wvball/2020-21/bios/reeder_shelby_zpe9">Shelby Reeder</a>&nbsp;had three aces. Freshmen&nbsp;<a href="https://bluedragonsports.com/sports/wvball/2020-21/bios/briggs_shadee_xm04">Shadee Briggs</a>&nbsp;and&nbsp;<a href="https://bluedragonsports.com/sports/wvball/2020-21/bios/head_kristina_5dlc">Kristina Head</a>&nbsp;had two aces each. Hutchinson had six kills in the second set and seven in the fourth set.

Offensively, Price set a balanced match with four Blue Dragons having eight or more kills in the match. Price finished with 38 assists.

Sophomore&nbsp;<a href="https://bluedragonsports.com/sports/wvball/2020-21/bios/thorne_jenna_xncq">Jenna Thorne</a>&nbsp;led all players with 16 kills. She added five digs and three block assists to lead the Blue Dragons.

Head finished with nine kills while Briggs and freshman&nbsp;<a href="https://bluedragonsports.com/sports/wvball/2020-21/bios/murrell_shelby_tlgr">Shelby Murrell</a>&nbsp;had eight kills each. Murrell added five blocks, including a solo stuff for the Blue Dragons.

Freshman libero&nbsp;<a href="https://bluedragonsports.com/sports/wvball/2020-21/bios/reeder_shelby_zpe9">Shelby Reeder</a>&nbsp;had 18 digs and Briggs had nine digs.

Claire Choloux had seven kills and Macarena Ruiz had six kills to lead the Trojans.

A Thorne-Head double block gave the Blue Dragons a 12-6 lead in the opening set, but Colby ripped off five-straight to pull within 12-11. Head and a kill and an ace and Murell added a solo block to stretch the lead to 15-11. That started a 13-2 Blue Dragon run that was closed out by a&nbsp;<a href="https://bluedragonsports.com/sports/wvball/2020-21/bios/larson_taegan_9xc6">Taegen Larsen</a>&nbsp;kill.

The Blue Dragons held an opponent to single digits in a set for the six time this season. The Blue Dragons held Colby to four kills in the set second. Leading 7-4, Reeder had two aces in a six-point service run that increased the Hutchison lead to 13-4. Leading 18-8 owned seven of the final eight rallies off the set, getting a Thorne kill on set point for a 2-1 lead.

Leading the Blue Dragons 4-3 in the third, Colby had its longest scoring run of the match, scoring five in a row to lead 9-3 after a Kasandra Lerma kill. Neither team had more than a two-point run for the remainder of the set. A Thorne kill cut the Colby lead to 16-13, but the Trojans took charge of the set again with four unanswered points to lead 20-13.

The fourth set was tied at 7-all after an Olivia Navarro ace. Leading 9-8, the Blue Dragons took charge of the set with a 9-2 run. Two Briggs aces, another from Reeder and a pair of Thorne kills opened up an 18-11 lead. Then leading 21-17, the Blue Dragons finished off the set with the final four points of the match. Blue Dragon Volleyball win streak now at 6 after downing Colby in 4 sets

Playing for the first time in 18 days, there was no rust on the bats of the Hutchinson Community College softball team Tuesday at Fun Valley.

The Blue Dragons combined for 29 runs and 26 hits in a doubleheader sweep of Northern Oklahoma College-Enid. Hutchinson won the first game 15-1 and the second game 14-0. Both games were five-inning rule-rule games.

Over its first four games, Hutchinson has scored 59 runs while allowing only one.

Hutchinson's No. 1, 3 and 4 hitters&nbsp;<a href="https://bluedragonsports.com/sports/sball/2020-21/bios/williams_lexi_p2uv">Lexi Williams</a>,&nbsp;<a href="https://bluedragonsports.com/sports/sball/2020-21/bios/grimes_madison_qa73">Madison Grimes</a>&nbsp;and&nbsp;<a href="https://bluedragonsports.com/sports/sball/2020-21/bios/bevan_natalie_gq93">Natalie Bevan</a>&nbsp;all had huge performances. Grimes was a combined 5 for 5 with five runs and six RBIs. Bevan drove in seven runs while going 5 for 7. Williams was 4 for 6 with five runs and five RBIs.

The Dragons had eight extra base hits in the sweep of the Jets including a&nbsp;<a href="https://bluedragonsports.com/sports/sball/2020-21/bios/miller_jaedyn_0yjz">Jaedyn Miller</a>&nbsp;home run.

Hutchinson surrendered its first run and also faced its first deficit of the season. NOC-Enid scored a single run off Game 1 starter&nbsp;<a href="https://bluedragonsports.com/sports/sball/2020-21/bios/bailey_samarah_si6w">Samarah Bailey</a>&nbsp;in the first inning. Bailey and&nbsp;<a href="https://bluedragonsports.com/sports/sball/2020-21/bios/galliher_jordan_2rxp">Jordan Galliher</a>&nbsp;then locked down the Jets over the next four innings, allowing just four hits over the final four innings.

Freshman Miguela Guajardo and Galliher combined for a one-hit shutout in Game 2. Guajardo gave up a leadoff single in the second, but erased that baserunner two batters later with an inning-ending 6-4-3 double play.

The victories were career wins 498 and 499 for Blue Dragon head coach Jaime Rose. That win total includes 17 seasons at Hutchinson and two at Independence. Grimes went 3 for 3 with three RBIs and two runs scored. Bevan went 2 for 3 with three RBIs. Carley Sternecker had a double and&nbsp;<a href="https://bluedragonsports.com/sports/sball/2020-21/bios/way_alexis_61jv">Alexis Way</a>&nbsp;tripled for Hutch's only extra base hits.

Bailey (1-0) earned the victory with four innings in the pitching circle. She allowed one earned run and six hits with only one strikeout and one way. Galliher struck out two in a scoreless fifth inning to close the game out.

The Blue Dragons also stole five bases, three from Grimes.

GAME 2 RECAP Guajardo was the headliner in the second game with four shutout innings to earn her first collegiate victory. She allowed a one-out walk in the first and gave up her only hit to lead off the second. Guajardo retired the final eight batters she faced.

Using only 36 pitches in her four innings. Guajardo had one strikeout and one walk allowed.

After a scoreless first inning, the Blue Dragon bats opened up against the Jets with five in the second, four in the third and five in the fourth.

AUSTIN, Texas (AP) — Courtney Ramey scored 15 points and made two free throws with a minute left in overtime to give Texas the lead as the 14th-ranked Longhorns earned a regular-season sweep of No. 17 Kansas with a 75-72 win. Kansas had a chance to tie after Ramey's free throws, but Jalen Wilson lost the ball driving for a layup. Kai Jones made one free throw for Texas with 5 seconds left for the final margin. Ochai Ogbajai scored 17 points for Kansas, which had its five-game win streak snapped. The Jayhawks lost to Texas twice in the regular season for the first time since the Big 12 went to round-robin play in 2011-2012.

LOS ANGELES (AP) — Authorities say there's no immediate evidence that Tiger Woods was impaired in a car crash that left him with multiple fractures in his right leg. 

HIs surgeon said the 15-time Grand Slam champion had multiple "open fractures" to his lower right leg. The surgeon said a rod was placed in the tibia, while screws and pins were inserted in the ankle.

At a news conference, the police chief and fire chief of Los Angeles County didn't answer follow-up questions on how they know he wasn't impaired or how fast he was driving. Weather was not a factor in the crash. 

Sheriff Alex Villanueva and Fire Chief Daryl Osby (OHZ'-bee) say Woods was conscious and able to communicate when authorities arrived to pry him from an SUV after a rollover crash Tuesday. He was taken to a hospital in serious condition. His agent said he underwent leg surgery.

The deputy who first responded said Woods was alert and able to respond. He also said the location was prone to accidents.

Seattle doing damage control with players after exec's video

SEATTLE (AP) — Seattle Mariners general manager Jerry Dipoto and manager Scott Servais are doing damage control with players who were directly mentioned or referenced by former team CEO Kevin Mather in an online video that led to his resignation. They're giving players the message that they have every right to be upset. 

The video posted showed Mather expressing his views of the club's organizational strategy and making controversial remarks about players during a recent online event. He took insensitive shots at a former All-Star from Japan and a top prospect from the Dominican Republic for their English skills. He also admitted the team may be manipulating service time for some of its young players. 

UNDATED (AP) — Brett Gardner and the New York Yankees have finalized a $5.15 million, one-year contract for the outfielder to return for a 14th season. 

New York also finalized its one-year deal with left-hander Justin Wilson. 

To clear roster spots, right-hander Luis Severino was put on the 60-day injured list and outfielder Greg Allen was designated for assignment. Severino is recovering from Tommy John surgery performed last February.

We did a great job on defense to give us a chance down the stretch. I thought Davion (Bradford) was exceptional, 13 and 8 and a plus-15 overall when he was in there. Kansas fell to 17-8 overall and 11-6 in Big 12 play, while Texas improved to 14-6 and 8-5 in league games.

Tuesday night’s Big 12 battled marked the first game since Nov., 27, 2019, that the Jayhawks played into overtime, when Kansas defeated Dayton, 90-84 in the title game of the Maui Invitational.

The overtime effort was a tale of two halves for the Jayhawks, as Kansas used the first half to jump out to a 43-32 lead going into the break. At that point, Kansas had shot 48.5% (16-of-33) from the field, while leading all but four minutes of play.

In the second half, the Longhorns closed in on the Jayhawks with a 15-3 run, which helped Texas take the lead at 57-54 with 9:10 remaining. Despite giving up its lead, Kansas stayed to within five points and was able to draw close in the final minutes.

Trailing by two on their final possession, Kansas Junior David McCormack collected a Marcus Garrett miss and tied the game at 66-66 to send the game into overtime.

In overtime, the Longhorns were able to pull ahead and hold off the Jayhawks, 75-72.

LOS ANGELES (AP) — Tiger Woods was seriously injured Tuesday when his SUV crashed into a median, rolled over and ended up on its side on a steep roadway in suburban Los Angeles known for wrecks, authorities said. The golf superstar had to be pulled out through the windshield, and his agent said he was undergoing leg surgery.

Woods was alone in the SUV when it crashed into a raised median shortly before 7:15 a.m., crossed two oncoming lanes and rolled several times, authorities said at a news conference. No other cars were involved. The 45-year-old was alert and able to communicate as firefighters pried open the front windshield to get him out.

The airbags deployed, and the inside of the car stayed basically intact and that "gave him a cushion to survive the crash," Los Angeles County Sheriff Alex Villanueva said. Both of his legs were seriously injured, county Fire Chief Daryl Osby said.

They said there was no immediate evidence that Woods was impaired. Authorities said they checked for any odor of alcohol or other signs he was under the influence of a substance and did not find any. They did not say how fast he was driving.

The crash happened on a sweeping, downhill stretch of a two-lane road through upscale Los Angeles suburbs. Sheriff's Deputy Carlos Gonzalez, who was the first to arrive at the wreck, told reporters that he sometimes catches people topping 80 mph in the 45 mph zone and has seen fatal crashes there.

"I will say that it's very fortunate that Mr. Woods was able to come out of this alive," Gonzalez said.

Woods was in Los Angeles over the weekend as the tournament host of the Genesis Invitational at Riviera Country Club, where he presented the trophy on Sunday. He was to spend Monday and Tuesday filming with Discovery-owned GOLFTV, with whom he has an endorsement. A tweet Monday showed Woods in a cart smiling with comedian David Spade.

According to Golf Digest, also owned by Discovery, the TV shoot was on-course lessons for celebrities, such as Spade and Dwyane Wade, at Rolling Hills Country Club.

Woods, a 15-time major champion who shares with Sam Snead the PGA Tour record of 82 career victories, has been recovering from Dec. 23 surgery on his lower back. It was his fifth back surgery and first since his lower spine was fused in April 2017, allowing him to stage a remarkable comeback that culminated with his fifth Masters title in 2019.

He has carried the sport since his record-setting Masters victory in 1997 when he was 21, winning at the most prolific rate in modern PGA Tour history. He is singularly responsible for TV ratings spiking, which has led to enormous increases in prize money during his career. Even at 45, he remains the biggest draw in the sport.

The SUV he was driving Tuesday had tournament logos on the side door, indicating it was a courtesy car for players at the Genesis Invitational. Tournament director Mike Antolini did not immediately respond to a text message, though it is not unusual for players to keep courtesy cars a few days after the event.

Woods feared he would never play again until the 2017 fusion surgery. He returned to win the Tour Championship to close out the 2018 season and won the Masters in April 2019 for the fifth time.

LOS ANGELES (AP) — Golf star&nbsp;Tiger Woods&nbsp;suffered leg injuries Tuesday in a vehicle rollover in suburban Los Angeles and was undergoing surgery, authorities and his manager said.

Woods was alone in the vehicle and had to be extricated from it, the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department said in a statement. No other cars were involved in the wreck that injured the golfer.

An ambulance took Woods to a hospital in serious condition, authorities said.

“Tiger Woods was in a single-car accident this morning in California where he suffered multiple leg injuries,” said his manager, Mark Steinberg. “He is currently in surgery and we thank you for your privacy and support.”

A KABC-TV helicopter over the wreck showed a car on its side, with its front end heavily damaged just off the side of a road near a hillside. The air bags appeared to be deployed.

There was a second crash when a vehicle that had apparently stopped to help Woods got hit, said Christopher Thomas, a spokesman for the Los Angeles County Fire Department. That wreck was very minor, and no one was hurt.

Woods’ crash occurred shortly before 7:15 a.m. about 20 miles (32 kilometers) south of downtown Los Angeles, on the border of the upscale communities of Rolling Hills Estates and Rancho Palos Verdes, officials said.

The crash occurred shortly before 7:15 a.m. Tuesday, officials said.
