Raymond R. “Ray” Lohrentz, 91, of Inman, Kansas, passed away Thursday, August 28, 2025 at the Hospice House of Reno County in Hutchinson. He was born on August 22, 1934 in Newton, Kansas to P.M. and Lizzie (Dick) Lohrentz.

He graduated from Buhler High School with the class of 1952.

Ray served 1-W service in Ann Arbor, Michigan where he met Carolyn Iler. They married on November 3, 1956 in Ann Arbor and three daughters were born from this union. They shared 39 years of marriage before Carolyn passed on April 23, 1996. Ray later married Viola Peters.

He was a longtime member of the Bethel Mennonite Church in Inman. Ray was also a member of the Teamsters Local #795, and in his younger years was a member of the Inman Car Club.

Ray worked as a truck driver for most of his life, working for APCO Petroleum, and later for Dillons in 1970. He retired in 1998, having logged over three million miles throughout his driving career.

In his lifetime, Ray transformed homes into works of art. He remodeled the family’s original home and designed and built a home in Inman and Hillsboro, leaving a lasting legacy on every place he lived. His talent extended beyond construction to beautifully crafted landscapes that reflected his meticulous care and vision. He also had a passion for antique cars, dedicating countless hours to restoring them. Ray customized his personal vehicles, making each one a unique reflection of his personal style. He will be remembered not only for his craftsmanship and love of cars, but for the care and dedication he put into creating spaces and projects that truly felt like home.

Ray is survived by his daughters, Eileen (Scott) Sanchez of Inman, Denise (Ronnie) Nelson of Lindsborg, and Joyce (David) Tait of Yoder; seven grandchildren, Cara (Chris) Mercier, Emily (Todd) Schonhoff, Kate Sanchez, Jordan Smith, Lauren (Travis) Creamer, Hannah (Nathan) Beam and Abigail (Isaac) Hubbell; four great-grandchildren, Bryson Nixon, Malachi Beam, Rylee Creamer, and Harper Mercier; and brother, Milford (Jo) Lohrentz of Buhler.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Carolyn Lohrentz; sisters, Elfrieda Schmidt and Fern Regehr; and sister-in-law, Janet (Iler) Simonson.

Graveside services will be held at 9:45 a.m., Tuesday, September 2, 2025 at Hebron Cemetery, rural Buhler. Memorial services will follow at 11 a.m., Tuesday at Bethel Mennonite Church, rural Inman. Deena Marie Brandenberger, 74, went to be with our Lord Jesus on August 26, 2025. Funeral services will begin at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, September 2, 2025 at the Life Church in Stillwater. Interment will follow in Fairlawn Cemetery. Strode Funeral Home and Cremation is in charge of the arrangements.

Deena was born in 1951 to John and Ada of Cushing, in Yale, Oklahoma. She has two sons, Ilex of Medford, Oregon married to Jamie, and Kyle of Atlanta, Georgia and four grandchildren Isaac, Emma, Karis, and Ada.

Deena grew up in Cushing and married her college sweetheart Lynn Brandenberger at a private park in Cushing complete with all the trimmings, including chiggers that lingered with the wedding party for several days.

She completed her B.A. degree in Spanish from Oklahoma State University and her M.S. in Library Science from the University of North Texas.

She was an accomplished musician playing piano and singing for church services during her years as a Kansas farm wife. Deena evolved from a “city girl” to a farmer during the years that she and her husband farmed near Burrton and Haven, Kansas. She became quite handy at operating tractors and other farm machinery during those years. Deena always enjoyed farm work and had fond memories of her time there. She and Lynn lived without running water in a converted chicken coop at one point.

During the early 80’s the family moved from Kansas to East Texas where she was deeply involved in raising their sons and managing the home. She was always ready to teach her sons about the world around them, and they enjoyed hearing her read to them during the days and evenings. After their time in Northeast Texas, they moved to College Station, Texas where she supported Lynn during his studies at Texas A&amp;M. The family then moved to Southwest Oklahoma where Ilex continued his elementary education and Kyle began his. Deena was a huge part of caring for her sons and encouraging their education. The first years in Oklahoma she walked Ilex to his neighborhood school and then walked back home with Kyle. In one instance, they left the house, and a strong cold front (blue-northerner) swept into town dropping temperatures 20-30 degrees in minutes. She and Kyle were glad to make it back to the house safely.

Deena, Lynn, and the boys moved to Northwest Arkansas a few years later so Lynn could pursue an advanced degree. The move resulted from Deena and her mother encouraging Lynn to do this. Lynn’s initial response to this idea was “are you nuts, we’ll starve to death”. Deena worked for the university both as a secretary and in the university library for several years. After completing graduate school, the family packed up and moved to South Texas

and the Rio Grande Valley, about 5 miles from the U.S./Mexico border. While there, USDA hired Deena to organize a library as a joint project with Texas A&amp;M. She collected books and periodicals from all over the research station, catalogued them, and created their first research library. Also, during this time, she earned her master’s degree in library science.

In the early 2000’s Lynn and Deena moved back to Stillwater and have lived there since. Deena worked in the OSU library and at Richmond Elementary.

Deena enjoyed traveling with her family making several mission trips to Mexico and visiting England, Guatemala, and Mongolia. A friend encouraged her to go to Mongolia with Lynn. Deena spent most of her time in the capital city of Ulaanbaatar but also visited the countryside and even spent a few nights in a ger camp.

Deena was an amazing woman willing to venture out to places unknown. She was an avid reader, and books were a huge part of her life. She will be remembered by her husband and sons as a lifetime learner, encourager, teacher, supporter, and a great friend. She will be sorely missed.

Marilyn Nelson, 68, passed peacefully on August 25, 2025, at her home in El Dorado, KS. Marilyn was born on December 31, 1956, in Hutchinson, KS, the daughter of Jose and Ruth (Razo) Garcia.

In 1974, Marilyn graduated from Hutchinson High School and attended Hutchinson Community College. Marilyn married Michael Nelson on May 21, 1977, in Hutchinson, KS. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends. Being a grandmother kept Marilyn very busy. In the past years she enjoyed playing Bunko. When living in Ellsworth, KS, she started a Bunko group that continues today, 37 years later.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and her son Joel Nelson.

Marilyn is survived by her husband, Michael Nelson; two sons, Brian (Ashlee) Nelson and Bradley Nelson; one sister, Patty (Mike) Martindale; four brothers, Danny Garcia, Chris Garcia, Reuben (Mona) Garcia and Tom Garcia; four grandchildren, Pamela (Danny) Anderson, Maci, Jordan and Connor Nelson; and a great granddaughter, baby Lillian to come.

Marilyn was well loved by those who knew her and generous to those in need. Although she had an illness for many years, she never forgot a birthday or a special event for friends. She and her husband raised a special needs son who made many achievements due to Marilyns advocacy. Although known for having a pleasant personality, she could be firm and forceful in order to correct any situation. She will be dearly missed by all of her family and friends.

Robert Clayton Donaldson, 88, died August 23, 2025, at Hutch Health and Rehab, Hutchinson. He was born February 24, 1937, in Mason, MI, to William Henry and Josephine Elsie (Burgess) Donaldson.

Bob attended Mason High School, Mason, MI. He began working as a union organizer for United Food and Commercial Workers (UFCW) and rose through the ranks retiring, after 35 years, as the Transportation Director for the union. Bob enjoyed fishing at his daughter's house and bowling. He and his wife, Lauralee, loved being “snowbirds”, travelling across the country, especially spending time in Arizona, in their bus during the winter months.

On November 5, 1954, Bob married the love of his life, Lauralee Kay Peabody, in Mason, MI.

He is survived by: his wife of almost 71 years, Lauralee Donaldson of Hutchinson; children, Bobbi Latham of Hutchinson, Barry Donaldson of Linden, VA; grandchildren, Laura Rhea Reeves, Rick Faddish, Brianna Brower, Tracy (Shawn) Simmons, Travis (Debbie) Jones, Courtney (Dustin) Peak; numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; and childhood friend, Charles Merindorf.

Bob was preceded in death by: his parents; son, Bruce Donaldson; siblings, Delores Bartlett and William “Bill” Donaldson; and son-in-law, Lewis Latham.

Cremation has taken place; no services are planned.

Zora F. Johnson, 91, of Inman, died August 22, 2025, at Pleasant Hills, Hutchinson. Zora was born January 9, 1934, in Howard, Kansas, to G. Bufford and Lillian (Bennitt) McKinney.&nbsp;

Zora attended Elk Falls Rural High School. She earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education in 1956 from Kansas State Teachers College in Emporia. Zora was a proud life-long teacher. She taught in Conway Springs and Hutchinson and ultimately taught Language Arts in Inman for 33 years.&nbsp;

Zora appreciated reading and obtaining knowledge. She enjoyed working in her yard in her spare time and while indoors would spend time working on crossword puzzles. Zora loved to volunteer and frequently was at Reins of Hope, Dillions Nature Center, and read to students at Obee Elementary.&nbsp;

On June 2, 1957, she married Ronald Johnson in Howard, Kansas. They shared nearly 50 years of marriage before his death on February 21, 2007.

Zora is survived by: children, Ronna Olivier of Manhattan, Rusty Johnson of Inman, and Tracie (Curtis) Johnson of Little River; grandchildren, Nathan (Carrie) Olivier, Robin (Jose) Franco, Rachel (Grant) Watkins, Dakota Olivier, Alexis (Jed) Gunn, Austin Johnson, Elizabeth (Andy) Wills, and Dessirae (Nick) White; 14 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.&nbsp;

Barbara Ann Sharp, 92, passed away December 21, 2024, at Waldron Place Senior Living Center which she lovingly referred to as her cruise ship docked on dry ground. &nbsp;She was born in Hutchinson, KS, June 15, 1932, to Albert Charles and Margaret (Miller) Schroder. &nbsp;Her mother later married Thomas Jefferson Sharp.

Barbara married the love of her life Lee Everett Sharp on October 3, 1981. &nbsp;They enjoyed taking cruises, weekend getaways, attending Ozark Christian College conferences, spending time with friends, bowling and playing cards.

Barbara attended Ludlow High School in Ludlow, Missouri. &nbsp;She was a guard on the girls’ basketball team and graduated valedictorian. &nbsp;She attended Salt City Business School graduating with high honors and was asked to stay on as the school’s secretary. &nbsp;After four years, Barbara expanded her horizons working at a job in Chicago before moving back to Kansas. &nbsp;She then worked at Hussey Insurance Company. &nbsp;She settled into a permanent hob with Santa Fe Trucking transferring to New Mexico when she worked until 1981.

Barbara volunteered for the American Red Cross, was a member of the ABWA (American Business Women’s Association) and was awarded Woman of the Year in 1989. &nbsp;She was church secretary until the age of 89! Bible study was an important part of her life continuing it until the last week of her life. &nbsp;She met for regular games of Hand and Foot and Uno, was an amazing Bible and regular trivia player as well as doing word puzzles and sudoku.

Barbara is survived by her: brothers, Marvin (Jackie) Schroder, Cornwall, PA and Ivan Schroder, Hannibal, MO; and nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her: husband; parents; brother Clifford Shroder; and sisters, Maxine, Lois and Leila. &nbsp;Sister Betty Hoppes passed away after Barbara’s death.

There will be a Celebration of Life at 10 am&nbsp; Thursday, August 28, 2025, at Solid Rock Bible Church, 15 N. Poplar, South Hutchinson, with Pastor Lee Smith officiating. &nbsp;There will be a private family inurnment.&nbsp;

Gary Duane Pound, 88, died August 24, 2025, at Hospice House, Hutchinson. He was born on April 14, 1937, in Fredonia, to Harry K. and Mary Belle (Cook) Pound.&nbsp;

On May 1, 1960, Gary married Mary Elizabeth Crome, at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Hoxie.

He is survived by: his wife of 65 years, Mary Pound of Hutchinson; sister, Karen Stine of Texas; and sister-in-law, Shirley Crome of Ellis.

Gary was preceded in death by: his parents; brothers, Donald Pound and Larry Pound.

Cremation has taken place; burial will be at a later in Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery, Hoxie.

Donald Gene Horton, 86, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, went home to be with the Lord, August 22, 2025. He was born on October 27, 1938, in Mt. Vernon, IL, to William Paul and Dorothy Rose (Miller) Horton.

Don was a 1957 graduate of Mt. Vernon High School. Following graduation, he entered the United States Navy and served for over seven years. Don served most of his time in the Navy on a Permit-class nuclear submarine. After his service, he attended The University of Houston and San Diego State. Don worked for the United States Department of Energy, Washington D.C., as the Deputy Director of Civilian Nuclear Power, as well as in Quality Assurance. &nbsp;While at the Department of Energy, he assisted in the Yucca Mountain Project, Las Vegas, NV. Don was a member of the; Sons of the American Revolution, Mayflower Society, VFW and American Legion. He was a member of Church of the Holy Cross, Hutchinson, and associate member of United Church of Christ Midland, Sterling.&nbsp;

On September 15, 1973, he married his wife and soulmate, Vicki Lynn Stange, in Reno, NV.&nbsp;

Don is survived by: his wife of nearly 52 years, Vicki Horton, of Hutchinson; children, Stephanie (Mike) Madzy of Marble Falls, TX, Anthony Horton of Houston, TX; grandchildren, Christian Horton of Houston, TX, Joshua Horton of Round Rock, TX, Charles Wesley Madzy of Washington; great-grandson, Asher Horton; and many nieces, nephews and extended family.

Rodney Paul White, Sr., 77, died on August 20, 2025, at Hospice House, Hutchinson. He was born January 4, 1948, in Hutchinson, to James R. and Betty Jean (Hoffman) White, Sr.

Rodney graduated from Buhler High School in 1966. Following his graduation, he served in the United States Army for two years, during the Vietnam War. Rodney was awarded the Purple Heart and Bronze Star with Valor for his heroism and service to his country. After the Army, he worked at Collingwood Grain Elevator as an operator for over 20 years. Rodney later worked as a paint mixer for Color By Design, Haven, for 15 years. He was very crafty and liked woodworking, making airplanes out of cans and other hand-crafted hobbies. Rodney enjoyed fishing and spending time with his friends at the VFW Post #1361 and American Legion Lysle Rishel Post #68, where he was a member.&nbsp;

In 1972, he married Mona Lisa “Pinky” Snell. They shared over 43 years together, prior to her death on October 1, 2015.

Rodney is survived by: his children, Jamie White, Ronnie Taylor, both of Hutchinson; grandchildren, Beth Marie White of Missouri, Jaden Rae White and Anakin James White, both of Hutchinson; siblings, James (Brenda) White, Jr. of Buhler, Joyce White of Hutchinson, Cindy (Mike) Allenbach of Inman, Sandy (Brent) Robinson-King of South Hutchinson; sisters-in-law, Jody Levene and Bobbie Rogers, both of Hutchinson; and several nieces and nephews.

Richard A. “Richie” Huddleston, Jr, 53, died August 21, 2025 at Halstead Health and Rehabilitation Center. Richie was born August 13, 1972 in Hutchinson, KS, to Richard A. and Roberta (Kipp) Huddleston.

Richie was a lifelong Hutchinson resident. He enjoyed spending time with his family and his beloved yorkie, Gizmo. He enjoyed watching wrestling and various car shows, going to the Kansas State Fair and was an avid collector of Hotwheels.

On May 8, 1998, Richie married Brenda Lee Matula in Hutchinson. They later divorced but remained close friends.

Richie is survived by: sons, Garrett Huddleston (Jamie Wonser), Hutchinson and Josh Redington, AK; daughter, Savannah Harris (Justin), Dover, AR; ex-wife, Brenda Matula, Hutchinson; sisters, Kristina Walden (Darrell), Hutchinson and Jacqueline Nobles, Oklahoma; and beloved yorkie, Gizmo; and many extended family members.

He was preceded in death by: his parents, and an uncle, Jack Kipp, Sr.

Cody Grantlin Jackson, age 43, passed away August 7, 2025 in Boulder, Colorado, with family and close friends at his bedside.

He was born December 3, 1981 in Hutchinson, Kansas to John and Dana Bonham Jackson. He graduated from Nickerson high school, university of Kansas in Lawrence, and received a masters degree in clinical mental health from Naropa university in Boulder. He worked as a licensed therapist until his diagnosis of a glioblastoma brain tumor in March 2025.

He lived life to the fullest, the last 12 years in Boulder, where he found a community of amazing friends. He loved music and dancing, traveling and hiking, and the practices of yoga and meditation. He loved his family and his friends.

He was preceded in death by his father John, his grandparents, Orville and Jean Bonham, Betty Owen, and Bill Jackson, and his uncle Greg Jackson.

He is survived by his mother Dana Bonham Jackson in Lawrence, Kansas, siblings Kate Jackson Singogo of Asheville, North Carolina, Amy Rueschhoff Ballinger (Rick) of Kansas City, Kansas, Jason Rueschhoff (Jen) of Lawrence, Kansas, and many extended family members: aunts and uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews, and great nieces and nephews, and a whole community of friends in Boulder.

Cremation has taken place and a memorial to celebrate Cody‘s beautiful life will be held at a later date in Boulder. He will be greatly missed by many.

Cody Grantlin Jackson |1981-2025|

Larry Luman, a long-time Hutchinson resident, died Friday, August 15, 2025, at the KU Medical Center in Kansas City. He was 77 years old.&nbsp;

Larry was a devoted husband to Mary Luman and a loving dad to Cris (Lyle) Paulson of Hutchinson, Kara (Chris) Ackerman of Monument, Colorado, and Kim (Mark) Johnson of Hutchinson. He was incredibly proud of his seven grandkids: Kayla Paulson, Cassie Paulson, Jake Ackerman, Jessa Ackerman, Allie Johnson, Logan Johnson, and Luke Johnson. He loved his brother Richard (Mary) Luman, his brother-in-law Tom Brookover, his brother-in-law Gary (Sherry) Brookover and his brother-in-law John Graves, as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members and a multitude of friends.&nbsp;

A 1965 graduate of Hutchinson High School, Larry was drafted into the United States Army in 1966 and proudly served in Vietnam as an SP5 Intelligence Analyst. After 22 months and 5 days of service, he received an honorable discharge in 1968. Larry always carried deep pride in his military service. Soon after returning home, he met a young nursing student, Mary Brookover. The two were married on August 8, 1970, and just one week before his passing, they celebrated their 55th wedding anniversary.&nbsp;

Larry pursued his education at Hutchinson Community College, graduating in 1974, and proceeded to earn a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Wichita State University in 1976. His professional career included work as a corporate accountant for Jackson Ice Cream/Kroger and later Sonoco. He often spoke fondly, however, of his earliest jobs delivering newspapers and washing dishes at Skaets - experiences that reflected his humble beginnings and instilled the strong work ethic he carried throughout his life.&nbsp;

Larry had a lifelong love of cars, whether it was driving his antiques, attending car shows or watching car races. He was a faithful attendee of the car races, sitting in the same seat at the Hutchinson Nationals for over 50 years. After returning home from Vietnam, he paid cash for his 1969 Chevelle SS, a car he treasured throughout his life. He was a member of the Mid State Street Rods.&nbsp;

He shared a unique connection with each of his family members, giving them nicknames, spending quality time with each of them, lending a helping hand, and guiding them through life with his calm demeanor. He was always talking and laughing. He loved gardening and watching the Kansas City Chiefs and the Kansas City Royals. He also loved to spend time on the Brookover family farm in Greenwood County, camping, fishing, and deer hunting. He enjoyed time with The Cruisers, whether on land or sea. He looked forward to having breakfast with the Sonoco group. He was a great neighbor, and a loyal friend, especially to his 1965 Salthawk classmates.&nbsp;

He was a long-time member and supporter of Park Place Christian Church.&nbsp;

Larry was preceded in death by his parents, Charles Wilbur and Gladys Luman, his sisters Marcia Johnson and Donna Graves, and in-laws John and Bessie Brookover.&nbsp;

Larry’s burial has taken place in a private family service. A memorial for Larry will be held at Park Place Christian Church in Hutchinson on Saturday, August 30, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. with military honors conducted by the Fort Riley Honor Guard, with a reception following. An area of the church parking lot will be designated for classic cars to arrive early. Please honor Larry by bringing your classic cars and feel free to wear street rod or racing T-shirts. He was 77 years old.&nbsp;Larry was a devoted husband to Mary Luman and a loving dad to Cris (Lyle) Paulson of Hutchinson, Kara (Chris) Ackerman of Monument, Colorado, and Kim (Mark) Johnson of Hutchinson. He was incredibly proud of his seven grandkids: Kayla Paulson, Cassie Paulson, Jake Ackerman, Jessa Ackerman, Allie Johnson, Logan Johnson, and Luke Johnson. He loved his brother Richard (Mary) Luman, his brother-in-law Tom Brookover, his brother-in-law Gary (Sherry) Brookover and his brother-in-law John Graves, as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members and a multitude of friends.&nbsp;A 1965 graduate of Hutchinson High School, Larry was drafted into the United States Army in 1966 and proudly served in Vietnam as an SP5 Intelligence Analyst. After 22 months and 5 days of service, he received an honorable discharge in 1968. Larry always carried deep pride in his military service. Soon after returning home, he met a young nursing student, Mary Brookover. The two were married on August 8, 1970, and just one week before his passing, they celebrated their 55th wedding anniversary.&nbsp;Larry pursued his education at Hutchinson Community College, graduating in 1974, and proceeded to earn a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Wichita State University in 1976. His professional career included work as a corporate accountant for Jackson Ice Cream/Kroger and later Sonoco. He often spoke fondly, however, of his earliest jobs delivering newspapers and washing dishes at Skaets - experiences that reflected his humble beginnings and instilled the strong work ethic he carried throughout his life.&nbsp;Larry had a lifelong love of cars, whether it was driving his antiques, attending car shows or watching car races. He was a faithful attendee of the car races, sitting in the same seat at the Hutchinson Nationals for over 50 years. After returning home from Vietnam, he paid cash for his 1969 Chevelle SS, a car he treasured throughout his life. He was a member of the Mid State Street Rods.&nbsp;He shared a unique connection with each of his family members, giving them nicknames, spending quality time with each of them, lending a helping hand, and guiding them through life with his calm demeanor. He was always talking and laughing. He loved gardening and watching the Kansas City Chiefs and the Kansas City Royals. He also loved to spend time on the Brookover family farm in Greenwood County, camping, fishing, and deer hunting. He enjoyed time with The Cruisers, whether on land or sea. He looked forward to having breakfast with the Sonoco group. He was a great neighbor, and a loyal friend, especially to his 1965 Salthawk classmates.&nbsp;He was a long-time member and supporter of Park Place Christian Church.&nbsp;Larry was preceded in death by his parents, Charles Wilbur and Gladys Luman, his sisters Marcia Johnson and Donna Graves, and in-laws John and Bessie Brookover.&nbsp;Larry’s burial has taken place in a private family service. A memorial for Larry will be held at Park Place Christian Church in Hutchinson on Saturday, August 30, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. with military honors conducted by the Fort Riley Honor Guard, with a reception following. On May 17, 1957, he married Martha Mora in Hutchinson. They shared 68 beautiful years together before his death.&nbsp;

Jerry was an enthusiastic outdoorsman who loved fishing, hunting, and spending time with his hunting dogs, Jake and Max. He was a boxing instructor with the local Catholic Youth Organization. Jerry was a proud softball coach for many years and touched the lives of many young women. He enjoyed watching the Dallas Cowboys and the Tennessee Volunteers. Above all, Jerry loved to spend time creating memories with his family.&nbsp;

Harold L. Tegethoff was born February 26, 1936, in Morrowville, KS, to George M. and Ursula (Scheetz) Tegethoff. &nbsp;He died August 18, 2025, at Sunshine Meadows Retirement Community, Buhler. &nbsp;

Harold was raised on the farm, and attended Fairbury Junior College, Fairbury, NE, while working at a windmill factory. &nbsp;He attended Kansas State University, changed his major to education, and completed his Bachelor of Education at Emporia State University. &nbsp; Harold’s junior high mathematics teaching career began at Hutchinson USD 308 Central Junior High, in 1960. &nbsp;He continued teaching until his retirement in 1994 from Hutchinson High School and part-time at Hutchinson Community College. &nbsp;While teaching, Harold commuted to Emporia, where he completed his Master of Education degree.

In 1975, Harold married Linda Johnson Nerad, in Wichita. &nbsp;Together, they raised Linda’s two daughters, Denise and Michelle. &nbsp;One of his joys was helping to raise Michelle’s five-year-old son, Robert Lounsbury III, during the six months she was deployed to Italy and Sarajevo while serving in the United States Air Force. Harold and Robert enjoyed their daily visit to Fraese Drug Soda Fountain, where Harold continued to meet with his coffee buddies. &nbsp;The coffee buddies were solving the world’s problems, but more than that, they were a valuable support group to each other.

Harold was a member of Church of the Holy Cross, Hutchinson. &nbsp;His deep Catholic faith led him to begin a Perpetual Adoration prayer hour on Sunday nights, in 1989. &nbsp;Harold treasured his quiet time with the Lord. &nbsp;He was a member of the Thursday morning Cursillo men’s prayer group and frequently attended daily mass as well as Saturday Mass.

Harold will be remembered for his thoughtful kindness. &nbsp;After his retirement, he was the homemaker in charge of vacuuming and all household chores, while Linda continued working another 17 years. Harold always appreciated Linda’s home cooking and even insisted on doing the dishes as an expression of his gratitude.

Harold is survived by: &nbsp;his wife of almost 50 years, Linda; stepdaughters, Denise Avery (Robert Scott Avery) and Michelle Hurst; grandchildren, Christopher P. E. Avery (Marie Moses), Catherine R. Avery (Jacob Gonedridge), and Robert L. Lounsbury III; great-grandsons, Christopher J.P. Avery and Emitt Avery; great-granddaughter, Alice Lounsbury; brother, Robert Tegethoff; and seven nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Wilma Brandt.

Jack Joseph Gagnebin, 82, of Abbyville, died August 18, 2025, at Hospice House in Hutchinson. He was born November 29, 1942, in Hutchinson, to Joseph J. and Vesta M. (Bridgeman) Gagnebin.

Jack grew up in Abbyville, Kansas, and graduated from Fairfield North High School in 1961. He attended Hutchinson Community College for one year before joining the United States Air Force. After being honorably discharged, Jack returned to Abbyville and took over his father’s business, Gagnebin Gas and Oil, delivering fuel to local farmers. He later became a truck driver, hauling cattle for Branson Truck Line in Lyons for a number of years. Jack also enjoyed his time as a USD 310 school bus driver for over 20 years. He loved duck hunting and enjoyed snow skiing and lake activities, mainly driving the boat pulling family and friends. But Jack was most happy with his family around him and attending his grandchildren's activities - his grandchildren were the light of his life. He was a member of Plevna Community Bible Church.

On November 28, 1964, Jack married Sharon L. Dennis, at the Plevna Community Bible Church.

He is survived by: his beloved wife of over 60 years, Sharon Gagnebin of the home; sons, Michael Gagnebin and wife Emily of Wichita, Darin Gagnebin and wife Nancy of Paola; grandsons, Noah and Levi Gagnebin of Wichita, granddaughters, Mckenzie Gagnebin of St. Louis, Missouri, Bailey Gagnebin of Paola; and many extended family members.

Jack was preceded in death by his parents and sisters, Marilyn Gagnebin, Alice Nadine Gagnebin, and Joan Loudenback.

Carole had attended Hutchinson schools. She had worked forWestern Foods and later Saylor Cleaners for several years.

She attended Full Gospel Church, Hutchinson. She was a racecar driver and enjoyed supporting her kids and grandkids in their racing.

On November 18, 1969, she married Milton D. Miller in Hutchinson. He survives of the home.

Additional survivors include a son, Brandon and wife Jessica Miller, Hutchinson; a daughter, Shawna and husband Chris Eveland, Hutchinson; brothers, Chet Pinkston, Jesse Pinkston, and Gary Pinkston, all of Hutchinson; grandchildren, Ryan and wife Brooklyn Green, Kaci Brown, James Miller, and C.J. Eveland; and a great grandchild, Boston Green.

Stanley Thompson “Stan” Kemmis, 89, went to his heavenly home on August 16, 2025, at Diversicare Nursing Home in Hutchinson, KS. &nbsp;He was born on May 23, 1936, in Sidney, Montana, to George and Elizabeth (Ferrick) Kemmis. Stan was number 7 out of 8 children in the Kemmis family and was the last of the siblings to pass away. &nbsp;Although he just turned 89 in May, he chose to tell everyone that he was 90 “because it’s close enough”.&nbsp;

Stan graduated from Sidney High School in 1954 and joined the United States Navy in 1956. On September 6, 1958, he married Peggy Roberts of Fairview, Montana. &nbsp;They raised three children, Rick, Jon and Debra. &nbsp;They later divorced. She survives. &nbsp;

Stan was a dreamer, and his ambitions led his family to many different locations across the United States. He served in the United States Navy stationed in Oakland, California and the United States Air Force stationed in Altus, Oklahoma. Stan received a bachelor’s degree in history from Oklahoma University and a master’s degree in geography from Oklahoma State University. Upon graduation he accepted a job in Pratt, Kansas where his children graduated from high school.

Stan was the owner of an RV Center in Cullison, KS. He also ran a home improvement business that supplied nursing homes with tables and equipment that he designed and built. After Stan’s retirement, he restored cars and remodeled homes. He gravitated towards smaller communities as Stan enjoyed the hometown atmosphere. He adopted many pets as the years went by. Stan’s latest companion was his dog, Dudley.&nbsp;

Stan is survived by his children: Rick (Barb) Kemmis of Mission, KS; Jon (Brenda) Kemmis of Watertown, SD; and Debbie (Terry) Field of Hutchinson, KS; 8 grandchildren, Nick Kemmis, Eric Kemmis, Jordan (Mark) Brown, Jonathan (Amber) Kemmis, Jared (Stacey) Kemmis, Jason Kemmis, Cory Field, and Kelsi (Cody) Rietcheck; and 13 great-grandchildren.&nbsp;

Stan was preceded in death by: &nbsp;his parents; brothers, Kenneth, Winton, Merton, Quincy, Eldon; and sisters, Jane Norton and Mary Domonoske.&nbsp;

Cremation has taken place. &nbsp;Graveside service with military honors will be held at Pioneer Cemetery, Sidney, Montana, at a later date. &nbsp; Condolences for the family may be sent to elliottmortuary.com.

 </figure>Stanley Thompson “Stan” Kemmis, 89, went to his heavenly home on August 16, 2025, at Diversicare Nursing Home in Hutchinson, KS. &nbsp;He was born on May 23, 1936, in Sidney, Montana, to George and Elizabeth (Ferrick) Kemmis. Stanley "Stan" T. Kemmis |1936-2025|

Kelly Carson Crow, 62, passed away peacefully in his home on 8-4-2025. He was born on 9-19-1962 in Hutchinson Kansas, the son of Francis Crow and Patricia Crow. He lived in South Hutchinson his entire childhood and went to Nickerson High School.

He met his wife, Angie, in 1985 and they married in 1993. They have two sons. Max Crow and Eric Crow. 

He worked at his dad's shop, Pat's Used Cars, for many of his young years and then opened up a mechanic shop of his own in South Hutchinson and named it after his oldest son. Max's Automotive. He was a mechanic for twelve years and then he and Angie started a cleaning business. They worked side by side for twelve years and would joke, "And we're still happily married!"

He became a grandfather for the first time nine months ago to a beautiful little girl, Vivian Crow. And she was the light of his life.

Over the years he was a drummer in a local band and a self taught potter, but his true passions were sailing his Prindle catamaran and riding his motorcycle. 

Some of his other loves in life included reading, spending time with his family, stargazing and sitting amongst the flowers in his backyard. He referred to it as his "walled garden". 

A celebration of life will be held in the&nbsp; fall.&nbsp;

Jess Roy Heim, 85, of Hutchinson, passed away Thursday, August 14, 2025, at Hutchinson Regional Medical Center. He was born May 30, 1940, to Clara Mae (Featherhoff) and William Walter Heim Sr. at Grace Hospital, Hutchinson.

At age 4, the family moved to rural area and began farming using horses. Jess attended Willow Grove Grade School, graduated from Buhler High School in 1959, and Hutchinson Community College. He worked various jobs with friend Jake Base during the summer. At age 15, they were working construction. His father was disabled in 1950 and he had to help financially. In high school, Jess played football as a guard and linebacker and was also involved in FFA.&nbsp;

After graduation, he worked at Western Foods, Laramie Mills, and in 1961, he began working at Cessna. In 1962, Jess was drafted into the Army and served 2 years - 13 months in Korea and the remaining time in Fort Lee, Virginia. Jess was very proud to have served his country. He wore his Army Veteran hat quite often. Jess returned to Hutchinson and Cessna Hydraulics and retired in 2002 from Eaton Hydraulics (Cessna) after 41 years. He developed a love for golf that continued for many years. Being a people person, Jess became bored with retirement and worked delivering flowers for Dillon Stores for 13 years. He enjoyed his co-workers as family and meeting the customers. Jess attended The Father’s House church in Hutchinson.

Jess married the love of his life, Sheryl Barkman, in 1966. They shared over 59 years of marriage and have a son, Bret. He was very involved in coaching Bret and his teammates in baseball, football, basketball, and soccer for 7 years, enjoying every moment of it. Jess took pride in having a beautiful lawn as well as a productive garden. He also enjoyed decorating for Christmas - his Christmas lights lit the neighborhood. Jess enjoyed watching westerns, Kansas City Royals, and Kansas City Chiefs with a Pepsi-Cola and a bowl of popcorn with extra butter.

Jess was blessed with 4 granddaughters: Elizabeth “Ellie”, Allison, Mallory, and Sophia. He never missed an important event involving them. Jess was very proud of each one for their many&nbsp;achievements and always had a picture of them to share when conversing with others. They were&nbsp;the bright spot in his life.

He was preceded in death by: his parents; granddaughter, Elizabeth; sister, Alberta Bishop; brothers, Edward, Walter (Zella), and William “Bill” (Doris).

Jess is survived by: his wife, Sheryl; son, Bret (Angelea); granddaughters, Allison, Mallory, Sophia; brother-in-law, Rick Barkman (Irene); Chad Henson (Christina) and numerous other nephews and nieces.

Funeral service will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, August 19, 2025, at Elliott Chapel. Burial will follow in Fairlawn Burial Park, with military honors conducted by Fort Riley Honor Guard.

Marilyn M. Post, 74, died August 11, 2025, at Ascension Via Christi St. Francis in Wichita. She was born on February 1, 1951, in Great Bend, to Aloysius Francis “Louie” and Elizabeth Agnes “Betty” (Ackermann) Gerritzen.

Marilyn graduated from Claflin High School in 1969 and attended Barton County Community College. She worked at Electrex, Hutchinson, assisting in wire harnessing, and later she worked at Stutzman’s and Home Depot in the greenhouse. Marilyn enjoyed life; she loved to spend time in Carey Park watching the water fountains with her dog, Sandy. Marilyn liked to read and take care of her plants and flowers.

Marilyn is survived by: her sister, Janet Weseloh of Sylvan Grove; companion of over 15 years, Steve Behrendt of Hutchinson; former husband, Jerry Post of Hutchinson; many nieces and nephews; great-nieces and great-nephews; and beloved dog, Sandy.

She was preceded in death by: her parents; sisters, Sharlene (Art) Reichard, Joanne (Leon) Hamm, Carol (Floyd) Davis; and brother-in-law, Donald Weseloh.
