HUTCHINSON,
Kan. — We have more information on a man who was arrested in Hutchinson in connection
with a capital murder case in San Antonio Texas.

Twenty-year-old
Aaron Trevino was arrested in Hutchinson Sunday evening after authorities were
alerted to his presence. Trevino is
one of two people have been arrested for robbing and fatally shooting a man in
front of his girlfriend outside a Northeast Side hookah lounge, according to
San Antonio police. The other suspect is 22-year-old Nathan Cruz Sanchez. They
are accused in the May 29th death of Takhai Charles Michael.

According to
KSAT Television in San Antonio arrest warrant affidavits show Michael was
sitting in a car with his girlfriend and some of their mutual friends. They
were approached by a man who confronted their friend and pulled that person’s
hair. The man then pointed a gun at Michael and his girlfriend as five others
surrounded the car to rob them, police said.

During the
incident, Michael was punched by two suspects while the others stole their
items, including Michael’s gold necklace, his phone and his girlfriend’s purse.

As Michael
tried to get their belongings back, Sanchez and Trevino shot him multiple times,
police said. The suspects fled in different vehicles, and Michael was
pronounced dead at the scene. 

Police said
that two days after the shooting, a car used to leave the scene of the crime
was found abandoned off of Interstate 35 in Garvin County in Oklahoma. Trevino
headed north to Hutchinson while Sanchez is said to have taken the train back
to Texas. Trevino remains in the Reno County Correctional Facility awaiting
extradition back to Texas at this time.

— The Buhler USD 313 School Board will meet in special session Thursday afternoon
to seek approval of a new contract with the teachers for next year. The contract was approved by teachers last week and now the new contract goes before the board for action. No details are being released until after the meeting.

The board
will also go over several personnel matters and take action on classified and
administrative wages during the meeting which starts at 12:15 p.m. at Union Valley
Elementary School at 2501 E 30th
Avenue in Hutchinson.

Buhler USD 313 to meet in special session Thursday

YODER, Kan.&nbsp; — A public town hall meeting is scheduled for residents in and around the Yoder area
on what can be done to deal with high nitrate levels in Rural Water District
101 north of Yoder. The meeting is Thursday, Aug. 11 at 6:30 p.m. at the Journey of
Yoder activity center, located two miles north of Yoder.

Nitrate
levels have risen above allowable limits in Rural Water District 101, which
serves the Yoder area. The last Nitrate level test was collected on June 6,
2022. The level tested at 11.3 mg/L, which exceeds the maximum contaminant
levels for public water supply systems. Nitrate levels in water resources have
increased in many areas due to applications of inorganic fertilizer and animal
manure in agricultural areas.

The county
has been dealing with the high nitrate level since they were first notified of
the problem in August of 2020. Since then, efforts to remediate the contamination
have gone unfulfilled.&nbsp; The county has
been looking for an alternative water source and has been looking to dig test
wells to find a suitable source. 

At least two
of the Reno County Commissioners are expected to attend, as well as leadership from Reno County
Public Works.

Kan. — Entries are still being taken for this year’s Salty Dog and Salty Pup Triathlon in Hutchinson.

This year’s
event will be held Saturday, Aug 6th at 7 a.m. at Carey Park. Once
again there will be the Salty Pup for participants under age 13 and the Salty
Dog for those 13 and over. Teams can also be formed with one member doing one
discipline each. 

The event
distance is a 400-meter swim at Salt City Splash Aquatic Center; a 10.5-mile
bike (5 loops) around Carey Park Golf Course,&nbsp; and a 5K run along the Jim Martinez Trail.

The Event is
chip-timed and on a closed course inside Carey Park. All finishers receive
medals and are eligible for age-group awards. Packet
pick-up information and the timeline will be provided prior to race week via
social media and participant email.

Entry fee for
the Salty Pup is $35 through Aug. 4 and $40 after that. Entry fee for the Salty

Mann introduces whistle blower bill to protect veterans

factors, the number of summer meals served in Hutchinson USD 308 fell in 2022
when compared to the previous year. The number of summer meals was 49,444. That
includes 34,490 lunches and 14,954 breakfasts. The district also provided 9,826
snacks for the Boys and Girls Club this year.

In 2021 the district served 63,333 meals including 29,167
breakfasts and 34,157 lunches. The district did not serve the Boys and Girls
club last year. &nbsp;The difference showed up
in the number of breakfasts served this year compared to 2021 with about half as
many students taking free breakfast this year.

and Nickerson USD 309 through the end of this week.

What I love about this rule is it doesn’t hinge on predisposed talent or having the right connections. The only way to unlock the potential of this rule is to just keep showing up.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Showing up has been on my mind as I contemplate the upcoming primary. Over the years, I have heard many people dismiss primaries as unimportant. They may say their vote doesn’t matter or claim they will vote when the “real” election happens. That type of thinking is flawed because often the primary election is the real race. If you live in an area that is largely affiliated with one party, the primary likely determines the front runner or the only name that will be on the ballot in the general election. In our state, there are dozens of state and local races where only one party has candidates who have filed for election. This is your chance to show up for your community. If you hesitate to vote because you aren’t sure who to vote for, I invite you to visit KFB.org to see a list of the candidates endorsed by Kansas Farm Bureau’s Voters Organized To Elect Farm Bureau Friends. These candidates have been recommended by our local members through a grassroots process. However, I am advocating for you to show up and cast a ballot for your beliefs and values. If I haven’t convinced you in any of my previous points, let me try one more. You probably already knew an election was coming from the seemingly endless advertisements on social media, TV, streaming services and in your mailbox. These advertisements are overly sensational, meant to vilify one candidate while making a hero out of another, and often make claims that are irrelevant to the position in question. The reason we are bombarded with these advertisement is because organizations, many outside the state, are spending millions of dollars to sway your vote. All that money is spent in hope that an unengaged voter will show up to the poll and pick someone based on the faint memory they have of an advertisement. If you don’t want our elections to be determined by the highest bidder, show up as an informed voter for the primary. Politics can be overwhelming and it is easy to feel like your vote doesn’t matter, but it does. The world and elections belong to those who show up and I hope you will on Aug. 2.

Insight: Primary Reasons to Show Up

HUTCHINSON, Kan. — Progress continues on the new fire station at 23rd and Main in Hutchinson.

"They continue, for the last numerous weeks here, putting the footings in," said Fire Chief Steven Beer. "Now, they're up to putting in the flat work, as far as the apparatus floor. The south side of the building has been complete, as far as the flat work. Then they are going to the north side, where basically the living quarters are. Once they get that completed, it's my understanding, you'll start to see some things go vertical."

The hot temperatures have pushed the crews to earlier hours.

"Yeah, those guys are out there at four in the morning, pouring concrete," Beer said. "They're just starting a little earlier with the heat that we've been dealing with. We're on schedule. I've not heard of any delays, as we speak."

That means even more of the structure should be visible by the time folks come to town for the Kansas State Fair in September.

"By fair time, you would start to see some things go vertical," Beer said. "We're working with the fair and the fair board to make sure that we're not going to be the source of any issues or any concerns," Beer said. "During the fair time, we'll make sure that any work that is done is inside, so we're not distracting anything or sawing concrete, having dust or anything flying over the fair."

The city has already entered into a 99 year lease agreement with the fair for the new fire station at $1 per year. The station should be done sometime in 2023.

Fire station concrete progress continues

HUTCHINSON, Kan. — Reno County Commissioners gave approval
to join Interfaith Housing in a joint effort to secure funding to deal with
environmental issues at the old St. Elizabeth Hospital property. The agency
hopes to secure $5 million for the project.

Under the agreement the county will shoot for some EPA
funding to take care of some of the issues facing the old hospital. The
building must be owned by a government entity to acquire the funding so the
county is acting in that capacity. Under the agreement, Interfaith will pay for
all expenses associated with the grant and will also cover all liability on the
building. Once the project is complete, the county will hand the building back
over to Interfaith. 

Since acquiring the property in June 2016, Interfaith has
been denied two Kansas Housing Resources Corporation grants. Interfaith says if the property can be improved upon
they have no less than three available redevelopment options for improving the
property.

Also Tuesday, the commission approved a contract with
Hutton Construction for engineering and design work on the new county shooting
range. The vote was 2-1 with Commissioner Ron Sellers voting no. Sellers had
expressed concern that the project has grown out of proportion to what was
originally planned adding too much expense to the proposed facility. 

Commissioner Ron Hirst noted that a little more expanded
facility could be utilized for other things such as an emergency meeting area
if needed. The shooting range will be located just south of the landfill and
will provide training in all types of shooting scenarios for the sheriff’s
department and outside agencies.

Reno County Commission approves joint effort with Interfaith Housing

HUTCHINSON, Kan. — The Boys and Girls Clubs of Hutchinson are still looking for help with their scholarship drive through the end of the month.

"We're at 32% of our goal," said Skip Wilson with the club. "I don't know how many times we've had young people experience something at the club, whether it be a field trip, an activity and all of a sudden, it just sparks something. Just a little donation as $5, getting a kid to the Cosmosphere, getting a kid somewhere could make a huge difference in that member's life down the road."

If you want to change the community, you start by helping youth grow up knowing that they are valued.

"That's what's been great about our program," Wilson said. "The money that we raise, everything goes to our local, stays in Reno County. It serves our Reno County kids. I say Reno County kids, because this summer we had kids from all over the county participating."

"We were really pleased this summer," Wilson said. "We were about 90% capacity. We're starting to see that COVID shift. We're kind of getting back to our normal numbers, which I know our vision leaders are excited about. They love it when there's a lot of kids over there."

Kansas State Fair admission $50 deal is on now

HUTCHINSON, Kan. — Archer Daniels Midland (ADM) released its
second quarter earnings before the bell Tuesday. The oil seed giant reported
earnings of $2.18 per share compared with $1.26 per share in the same period
last year. 

“Our second quarter adjusted earnings per share of $2.15
reflect our team’s strong execution, delivering nutrition to billions of people
around the globe,” said Chairman and CEO Juan Luciano. “In addition, our
productivity initiatives are improving our capabilities and mitigating the
impact of inflation, while our innovation projects are powering profitable
growth, as we leverage our unique portfolio and globally integrated network to
meet demand driven by the three enduring global trends of food security, health
and well-being, and sustainability.

“Looking forward, we expect the combination of our strategic
actions and continued good demand for our products to propel very strong
earnings in the second half of 2022, with strong cash flows enabling us to
accelerate approximately $1 billion in share repurchases into the back half of
the year. Beyond that, we will continue to execute the growth plan we laid out
at our Global Investor Day, while maintaining our focus on balanced capital allocation
and optimizing ROIC.

Ag Services results more than doubled versus the year-ago
quarter as North America had a solid performance as export volumes remained
strong in a good global demand environment, though year-over-year results were
lower due to the prior-year’s insurance settlement and strong positioning gains
according to a news release from ADM.

Second quarter revenue topped $27.1-billion which is above
2021 numbers.

ADM operates five elevators around Hutchinson employing
about 60 workers.

ADM releases second quarter results

HUTCHINSON, Kan. — The renovations at the meeting place for the Harm Reduction Works support group are taking a little longer than expected. 

This Saturday's meeting will not be taking place. According to Seth Dewey with the Reno County Health Department, the meetings will resume as normal in August.

The meetings are usually Saturdays at 3 p.m. at 400 West 2nd Ave. Suite A in Hutchinson.

Harm Reduction Works support group will not meet Saturday

The Reno County Commission Republican primary candidates are visiting the KWBW Morning Show to talk to Nick Gosnell about their campaigns. Below is a transcript of the answers of Tom Collins from July 26, 2022.

In studio with us this morning, this is the first of the four candidates for the Republican side of the new district five on the Reno County Commission, which is basically the southeastern part of the county. You need to go look at the map at the county's website to know specifically which district your home is in before you go to the polls on August 2nd, but we wanted to talk to Tom Collins, who is running for district five this morning, Tom, good morning. How are you?

All right. So talk to us about who you are and where you come from and why you want to be on the county commission.

Oh my name's Tom Collins. My wife's name is Melanie Collins. We've been married for 21 years. I've been in Reno County since 1964. I've got 28 years of experience in maintaining and building roads and bridges in local government here in Reno County. I chose to run and because I was approached by several people asking me to, because they felt we needed a true conservative on the board. For those reasons and others, I chose to go ahead and throw my hat in the ring.

Okay, so 28 years in road and bridge, a lot of money gets spent on roads and bridges in the county. And sometimes those numbers, they just get tough for people to understand, don't they?

They do. And I think the last few years, I think some of those dollars could have been shaved. We used to have a bridge program in place when I was at Public Works where the crews built their own bridges, they were steel and concrete, free span. The designs went from 30 foot to 90 foot and the crews could build them for eighty or ninety thousand instead of paying a contractor 2 million.

So that, that would be one question that I guess you would have when these projects come up, something else related to that the three members on the current commission have talked about is just the maintenance program for the county. There's a certain amount of lane miles they try to do every year. So they have a rotation through, of getting the entire county done over a set period. What do you think about that idea? Do you try to do that on a constant basis every year? Or do you say no, we're gonna fix things when they need fixing, but not necessarily do just the constant around and round maintenance?

Well, to best explain that, Reno County, I believe has 458 miles of black top road. Back in 2010, when I retired, most of those roads were cold mix. Now I realize what I'm about to say, a lot of people don't understand. Cold mix roads need to be rotated and sand sealed. They should be every three years, but at that time it would've been too expensive, so we chose to do every four years, which was about 115 miles of road. And also while I was there, we put a hot mix program in place. We bought a paver and we started covering up some of the cold mix, so there wouldn't be quite so much maintenance, but it is my understanding that since 2011, they haven't sealed any cold mix roads, which is dangerous because if we ever have a wet really cold winter, they're gonna have problems.

And then you end up with the further issues that go on with that. So in your opinion, what should county government try to do? And what should they say, you know, what the private sector or other people should accomplish these things? Is there anything that, that maybe the county does now that you say, you know what, I'm not sure we do, I'm not sure that that our agency is the way to do it best.

Not to my knowledge now, to my knowledge at this point, which like I say, I've been gone over 10 years, but to my knowledge, the county's not doing anything that should be farmed out. Actually, they are farming out some that I think the county should take back because we could save taxpayers a lot of money doing that. And everyone in government needs to remember, every dime belongs to the taxpayers, let's do the best job we can do for the least amount of money we can do for them.

A lot of the projects that the county commission has been dealing with now, the one that's, obviously we've had a lot on the news is the courthouse dome and things like that, where there's been a difference of opinion, regarding whether it all needs to be tacked together or whether it would survive an earthquake without being done and all that kind of thing. When you talk about philosophy on those projects, is it more important to be able to look out further down the road or to say, no, again, we need to deal with today's problems for the county in other areas, and so maybe we end up putting off those decisions a little bit, with the county commission saying the engineer, the seismic engineer said it's not an immediate issue. It's more of an issue that they want to be sure gets done in the long term. So they want to step back from it for a little bit. What do you think about that?

Well, I'm a bit of a layman on this particular subject. I haven't been to the meetings and listened to the conversations. The courthouse is historic, and so for that reason, I think it does need to be kept up. Now it is my understanding and I could be wrong, but it is my understanding that that has been put off for several years now.

Explain how you understand the role of the county administrator and how that interacts with the county commission. County commissioners used to do a ton of stuff, now they hired a county administrator years back to do a lot of that. What do you see the role as?

And there again, I'm gonna have to take the layman term on that one. I'm not real familiar with his role because when I was in local government and I was at Reno County, the commissioners made all the choices. They worked on it together. They didn't hire it out to one man to make those decisions. So I really have no comment on that.

Okay. Well, the biggest issue there is that back then the county commissioners, because they were the ones making the day to day decisions, they got paid like it, I guess, is a way to put it. They made a little bit more money than they do now. They've expanded the commission from three to five members. They're gonna be down to, oh, roughly $10,000 a year to be commissioners. And so the current three at least have put a lot of that in the county administrator's lap to do the day to day stuff. They chose to hire an administrator here years back, instead of having the commission do the heavy lifting on a day to day basis. So that's a bit different than it was in previous time. So a lot of departments in the county are controlled by state statute. Things like the treasurer's office. They have to follow statute in the way they do things. County doesn't get to dictate a whole lot of that. The sheriff, obviously following state statute with legal stuff, etcetera. So how, how do you do that with the people that they're also elected? They're accountable to the people too. How do you interact with them and make sure that they have what they need, but you can keep an eye on the checkbook.

I think any elected official or grown adult to that matter can sit down and come to a compromise, can sit down intelligently and discuss the subject. And if you're short of something, which my understanding in the Sheriff's department has been running short of like vehicles and such. There should be a way to resolve that issue. Now, as far as the administrator goes, I don't think we need an administrator. I think the county commissioners were elected to do their job. I think they need to do their job. And as far as, yes, they're getting paid a lot less, but this to me, this position is not about money. This position is about serving the residents of Reno County the best that we can and save the money that we can for them to give them a better job. Every dime that we save does two things. One, it goes to a project that can do a little bit more. Two, it keeps from having to even talk about raising taxes.

Now I'm going to get to taxes here before we run out of time. Given the truth in taxation law that passed in the recent years in the legislature, the county can't just keep the mill levy flat and count on valuation increases to increase their budget because they have to do all these publication requirements, if they raise more money, even if it doesn't raise the mill levy. What do you think about trying to be revenue neutral? In other words, trying to stay with the same amount of dollars even when valuations go up.

I think the county needs to try to stay with the values as they are. I think the county needs to work within itself to find ways to not raise dollars, not raise mill levies, to work with what they are allotted now and make it better. And, and I still believe it can be done. I think that there is always areas, just like if you're a resident and, and you have a family of three, you don't necessarily get to go out and say, Hey, I need more money. The food cost me more. No, you have to make changes. You have to adapt to the life you're living at the moment. And I think the county needs to do the same thing.

Okay. So is there anything specific that you say other than, I guess the bridges, would be your first place? You'd look just because of the differences in the way it's been done. Is there any other areas where you say to yourself, this is where I would like to at least start looking at to put things in shape budget wise?

Yes. I was invited to a debate with the Sheriff's FOP and it was brought to my attention that budget for their vehicles was cut in half. They had to go twice as long before they could order new vehicles. And yet we turn around and we give hundreds of thousands to charities. Now I'm not saying anything against the charities, but I believe our first responders is one of our foremost important areas that we need to cover and protect.

You need to go look at the map at the county's website to know specifically which district your home is in before you go to the polls on August 2nd, but we wanted to talk to Tom Collins, who is running for district five this morning, Tom, good morning. How are you?Tom Collins:I'm fine, thank you.Nick Gosnell:All right. So talk to us about who you are and where you come from and why you want to be on the county commission.Tom Collins:Oh my name's Tom Collins. My wife's name is Melanie Collins. We've been married for 21 years. I've been in Reno County since 1964. I've got 28 years of experience in maintaining and building roads and bridges in local government here in Reno County. I chose to run and because I was approached by several people asking me to, because they felt we needed a true conservative on the board. For those reasons and others, I chose to go ahead and throw my hat in the ring.Nick Gosnell:Okay, so 28 years in road and bridge, a lot of money gets spent on roads and bridges in the county. And sometimes those numbers, they just get tough for people to understand, don't they?Tom Collins:They do. And I think the last few years, I think some of those dollars could have been shaved. We used to have a bridge program in place when I was at Public Works where the crews built their own bridges, they were steel and concrete, free span. The designs went from 30 foot to 90 foot and the crews could build them for eighty or ninety thousand instead of paying a contractor 2 million.Nick Gosnell:So that, that would be one question that I guess you would have when these projects come up, something else related to that the three members on the current commission have talked about is just the maintenance program for the county. There's a certain amount of lane miles they try to do every year. So they have a rotation through, of getting the entire county done over a set period. What do you think about that idea? Do you try to do that on a constant basis every year? Or do you say no, we're gonna fix things when they need fixing, but not necessarily do just the constant around and round maintenance?Tom Collins:Well, to best explain that, Reno County, I believe has 458 miles of black top road. Back in 2010, when I retired, most of those roads were cold mix. Now I realize what I'm about to say, a lot of people don't understand. Cold mix roads need to be rotated and sand sealed. They should be every three years, but at that time it would've been too expensive, so we chose to do every four years, which was about 115 miles of road. And also while I was there, we put a hot mix program in place. We bought a paver and we started covering up some of the cold mix, so there wouldn't be quite so much maintenance, but it is my understanding that since 2011, they haven't sealed any cold mix roads, which is dangerous because if we ever have a wet really cold winter, they're gonna have problems.Nick Gosnell:And then you end up with the further issues that go on with that. So in your opinion, what should county government try to do? And what should they say, you know, what the private sector or other people should accomplish these things? Is there anything that, that maybe the county does now that you say, you know what, I'm not sure we do, I'm not sure that that our agency is the way to do it best.Tom Collins:Not to my knowledge now, to my knowledge at this point, which like I say, I've been gone over 10 years, but to my knowledge, the county's not doing anything that should be farmed out. Actually, they are farming out some that I think the county should take back because we could save taxpayers a lot of money doing that. And everyone in government needs to remember, every dime belongs to the taxpayers, let's do the best job we can do for the least amount of money we can do for them.Nick Gosnell:A lot of the projects that the county commission has been dealing with now, the one that's, obviously we've had a lot on the news is the courthouse dome and things like that, where there's been a difference of opinion, regarding whether it all needs to be tacked together or whether it would survive an earthquake without being done and all that kind of thing. HUTCHINSON, Kan. — July sales tax revenue for the city of Hutchinson fell by more than 6% year-over-year.

According to figures released by the city, sales tax receipts totaled $1.367,618 compared with $1,458,651 in 2021. Like the county, it’s only the second time in the past five years that July revenue did not surpass the numbers in June. July numbers reflect shopping for the month of May.

The sales tax supporting the sports arena project fell by $20,000 for the month. The city’s ¼-cent sales tax generated $65,000 for the Cosmosphere, $9,800 for Strataca, $30,000 for property tax relief and just over $92,000 for infrastructure.

To date, the city has taken in about $10.2 million, or 39% of last year's total of just under $17 million.

USD 308 board has routine meeting Monday

NEWTON, Kan. —&nbsp; The bond discussion for Lindley Hall and Santa Fe school in Newton continued Monday night at the USD 373 Board of Education meeting. 

The board heard from Representatives from DLR, Gravity Works, and McCownGordon during their meeting Monday night to get their best estimates for work on Lindley Hall and the Santa Fe building.

The numbers given to the board were between $5,455,000 and $6,030,000 for Lindley Hall and between $1,855,000 and $2,055,000 for Santa Fe, depending on what rate they are able to get when the bond is marketed, so the total if all projects are bonded would be somewhere between $7,310,000 and $8,085,000.

This would likely push the next major bond for the district out another year from 2025 to 2026. The board agreed to go forward with putting a resolution on their agenda for August 8 to end up with a November bond election.

Newton USD 373 board to vote on bond question language Aug. 8

HUTCHINSON, Kan. — The Hutchinson Planning Commission will look over a long list of capital improvement projects that are a part of the 2023 budget and beyond during their regular meeting Tuesday.

The list includes more than $16 million worth of public works and engineering proposals including several storm sewer and utility projects. Included in the are major improvements to a sewer lift station for $2.7 million and sewer rehab at Avenue F and Van Buren at a cost of $1.3 million.&nbsp; More than $1.7 million worth of water line replacement is also on the list.&nbsp;&nbsp;

Several engineering projects include development of the Baker and 16th Avenue bridge replacement, the Woodie Seat mill and overlay project and design study. It also calls for $280,000 for the latest master plan renovation for the Carey Park Golf Course and several improvements to the Hutchinson Airport. Total CIP projects on the list amount to $19.5 million.

Tuesday's meeting of the Hutchinson Planning Commission begins at&nbsp; 5:30 p.m. at the Hutchinson city offices.&nbsp;

HUTCHINSON, Kan.— Archer Daniels Midland (ADM) will release its second quarter earnings before the bell Tuesday as the company looks to keep momentum from a positive start to the fiscal year.

The oil seed company reported a 53% jump in first-quarter profit, as the global grain trader was helped by higher demand and tight supplies of crops. Net earnings attributable to ADM were $1.05 billion, or $1.86 per share, in the three months ended March 31, compared with $689 million, or $1.22 per share, a year ago. Operating profit totaled $1.53 billion compared with $1.10 billion in 2021.

ADM operates five elevators in the Hutchinson area employing around 60 workers.

ADM to release earnings report Tuesday

HUTCHINSON, Kan. — A man wanted in a homicide case out of San Antonio, Texas has been apprehended in Hutchinson.&nbsp;

According to Hutchinson Police, 20-year-old Aaron Trevino was arrested around 1 a.m. Monday morning after they were notified of his presence in the city Sunday evening. With the cooperation of the San Antonio Police Department, an arrest warrant was obtained and Trevino was taken into custody on a charge of capital murder. He is being held without bail.

No other details of the case in San Antonio were released at this time by the San Antonio Police Department's public information office. Trevino will have to be extradited back to Texas.
