RENO COUNTY, Kan. — According to Reno County Fire Administrator Travis Vogt, at approximately 9:50 a.m. Thursday, Reno County Fire District 8 was dispatched to a Commercial vehicle fire at K96 & Yoder. Crews found a semi truck pulling a grain trailer with the semi truck fully engulfed in fire.
Crews from Reno County Fire District 9 from Haven were requested for assistance. The semi was a total loss. The trailer was full of corn. The trailer was damaged but the corn was not. Crews were on the scene for over an hour. 6 fire apparatus and 11 firefighters responded to the scene.
