RICE COUNTY—One person was injured in an accident just after 4:30 p.m. Sunday in Rice County.

The Kansas Highway Patrol reported a 2009 Harley Davidson motorcycle driven by 28-year-old Kraymer Fox Bennett of Lyons, was northbound on Kansas 14 behind a 2018 Dodge Journey driven by 38-year-old Rachel H. Hatcher of Alden.

The Dodge slowed to make a turn to the west on Avenue T.&nbsp; The motorcycle made an evasive maneuver to avoid rear-ending the Dodge and ended up in the northwest ditch.

Bennett was taken by private vehicle to the hospital in Lyons.&nbsp; Hatcher and a passenger in the Dodge were not injured and properly restrained at the time of the accident.&nbsp; The motorcyclist was also wearing a helmet and eye protection at the time of the accident.
