SAN ANTONIO &ndash;&nbsp;A career-high seven RBIs from senior&nbsp;<dfn><a href="https://goshockers.com/sports/softball/roster/camryn-compton/9311" rel="smarttag" rev="9311">Camryn Compton</a></dfn>&nbsp;powered Wichita State to a 13-5 win over the UTSA Roadrunners on Sunday afternoon at Roadrunner Field. &nbsp; The win clinched the regular season series win for the Shockers (15-15, 4-5) over UTSA (14-16, 2-7). &nbsp; In the top of the first, the first three Shockers reached base, and&nbsp;<dfn><a href="https://goshockers.com/sports/softball/roster/taylor-sedlacek/9318" rel="smarttag" rev="9318">Taylor Sedlacek</a></dfn>&nbsp;opened the scoring with a sacrifice fly that brought&nbsp;<dfn><a href="https://goshockers.com/sports/softball/roster/ellee-eck/9322" rel="smarttag" rev="9322">Ellee Eck</a></dfn>&nbsp;home.&nbsp; &nbsp; Immediately after, Compton belted the first of two home runs on a no-doubt, three-run home run over the wall in center to quadruple the Shocker lead to 4-0. Later,&nbsp;<dfn><a href="https://goshockers.com/sports/softball/roster/krystin-nelson/9315" rel="smarttag" rev="9315">Krystin Nelson</a></dfn>&nbsp;capped off the fantastic start for Wichita State with an RBI single through the left side of the infield, making it a 5-0 lead for WSU. &nbsp; UTSA answered the big inning with a big hit of their own, a two-run homer to center, making it a 5-2 score through the first inning. &nbsp; The Shockers responded with two sacrifice flies in the second, one from Compton and one from&nbsp;<dfn><a href="https://goshockers.com/sports/softball/roster/gabby-scott/9324" rel="smarttag" rev="9324">Gabby Scott</a></dfn>&nbsp;to take a 7-2 lead. &nbsp; In the third, the Shocker onslaught continued as&nbsp;<dfn><a href="https://goshockers.com/sports/softball/roster/lauren-lucas/9314" rel="smarttag" rev="9314">Lauren Lucas</a></dfn>&nbsp;drove in a run on a bloop single and then Compton delivered again, blasting another three-run home run, giving WSU an 11-2 lead through the top of the third. &nbsp; Moving to the bottom half, UTSA quickly loaded the bases against Shocker starter&nbsp;<dfn><a href="https://goshockers.com/sports/softball/roster/ryley-nihart/9325" rel="smarttag" rev="9325">Ryley Nihart</a></dfn>, scoring three runs to cut the Shocker lead to 11-5. &nbsp; In the fifth, Sedlacek immediately re-extended the Shocker advantage to eight runs with a monster two-run home run to right-center field, giving WSU a 13-5 lead. &nbsp; Needing three outs to end the game, Nihart stranded a leadoff walk to wrap the game up in five innings. &nbsp; All but one Shocker starter recorded a hit with Lucas going 3-for-4 with a double and her RBI. Compton's two home runs were a career-best, while her seven RBIs were the most by any Shocker in a single game this season. &nbsp; Next Up The Shockers return home to face the Central Arkansas Bears on March 26 at 5:00 PM at Wilkins Stadium.</div>
