HAVEN, Kan. — Crews from Reno County Fire District #1 responded Saturday night to a residential structure fire in Haven that was quickly contained, with no injuries reported.

According to fire officials, units from Stations 91, 81, 82, 10 and 50 were dispatched at approximately 8:34 p.m. to the 100 block of South Topeka in Haven for a reported house fire.

When firefighters arrived, they observed smoke coming from the eaves of the home. Interior crews located the source of the fire in a second-floor bathroom and were able to contain the flames to that area.

Damage was largely limited to the bathroom, though smoke and heat affected other rooms on the second floor, officials said.

The occupants safely evacuated before crews arrived, and no civilian or firefighter injuries were reported. Haven EMS provided on-scene rehabilitation support for firefighters during the response.

Additional assistance came from Haven Police, the City of Haven, and the American Red Cross, which helped support the displaced residents.
