🏀 WBB: No. 2 HutchCC rides hot shooting past Cloud County

HUTCHINSON, Kan. — The No. 2 Hutchinson Community College women's basketball team saw five players score in double figures in a 93-63 rout of Cloud County on Saturday at the Sports Arena.

Kiki Smith poured in 20 points to lead all scorers, her sixth 20-point game this season. Journey Armstead and Akaysha Muggeridge each scored by 15, while Hailey Jackson and Kahlen Norris finished with 12.

Hutchinson (23-0, 17-0 KJCCC) continued its unbeaten season, moving into a tie for the fourth-best start in program history. The 23-game winning streak is the fifth longest in the programs 50-year history.

The Blue Dragons scored 20 or more points in all four quarters of the game, 24 in each of the first two quarters, followed by 25 and 20 in quarters three and four. 

HutchCC held Cloud County (12-11, 8-10) its fourth straight loss and finished off the season sweep of the T-Birds.

The T-Birds were led by Josephine Igherighe with 19 points, while Maimouna Sissoko finished with a double-double, 17 points and 12 rebounds.

Hutchinson shot 52.9 percent from the floor (37-of-70), including knocking down 12 3-pointers, the second most in a single-game this season.

The Blue Dragons saw all 11 players who saw action, score. Hutchinson finished with nine turnovers in the game, its second straight game with under-10.

Hutchinson will travel to Cowley College (12-12, 6-12) on Wednesday for a 5:30 p.m. tip off from Arkansas City. The Tigers knocked off No. 11 Dodge City on Saturday, 78-65.
