Alice K. Murphey  |1943-2022|

Alice K. Murphey, 79, passed away Wednesday, June 8, 2022. She was born on April 10, 1943 in Kingman to Bruno and Florence (Marx) Harbert.

Alice graduated from St. Mary's Of The Plains in Dodge City. She worked as a Registered Nurse. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church where she was a member of Altar Society and taught CCD . She was an avid gardener but also enjoyed volunteering with the Senior Center in Pratt, crafting, tatting lace, playing cards with her girl friends and spending time with grandchildren whether it be babysitting or attending their activities.

She is survived by daughters, Dana Murphey of Ellinwood and Heather Murphey of Cunningham; sister, Delores (Marion "Bud") Sloan of Joplin, Missouri; grandchildren, Ian Murphey Hosler of Ellinwood and Marlow Murphey Hosler of Manhattan.

Alice is preceded in death by her parents and sister, Pauline "Sister Mary Helen" Harbert.

Cremation has taken place. Rosary will be held at 10:00 a.m. with Mass of Christian Burial to follow at 10:30 a.m., both on Saturday, June 25, 2022 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Cunningham. The family will receive friends following the service. Inurnment will be held at a later date at St. Leo Catholic Cemetery, St. Leo.
