CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Following a 59-7 victory in its season opener, the Hutchinson Community College football team remained No. 2 in the latest NJCAA Division I rankings released Monday afternoon.

The Blue Dragons received 112 points and one first-place vote. Iowa Western remained No. 1 with 120 points and nine first-place votes.

Hutchinson travels to Iowa Falls, Iowa, on Saturday to face Ellsworth. Kickoff is scheduled for 11 a.m. at Cadet Field. The game can be heard on KHUT-FM (102.9), with Countdown to Kickoff beginning at 10:30 a.m. Sean Boston will have the play-by-play alongside analyst Daren Dunn.

The top five remained unchanged from the preseason poll. Trinity Valley moved up one spot to No. 6, while Coffeyville climbed one spot to No. 7. Snow made the biggest jump, moving from No. 13 to No. 9, while Georgia Military fell four spots from No. 6 to No. 10.

Three other Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference teams joined Hutchinson in the top 15. Coffeyville is ranked No. 7, Butler is No. 13 and Garden City is No. 14.
