THE SALVATION ARMY

Food, Toys, Clothing, Blankets, and Stocking Stuffers have all been given, however The Salvation Army still needs our help. Their Annual Christmas campaign goes until January 31, but a big part of their $300,000 goal comes from their red kettles in front of retail stores.

“There have been so many generous donors”, said Major James. However, The Salvation Army is running about $15,000 behind on its red kettle goal. After Thursday’s windstorm and the chaos of the grass fire, The Salvation Army has slipped further behind this season’s red kettle goal of $85,000. As of Friday morning, they were still needing $30,449.

A few ways you can help is to go to RegisterToRing.com and volunteer to ring bells. It's for this reason that Westphal Jewelers is also encouraging people to volunteer to help The Salvation Army. Monday, Westphal Jewelers is giving out a diamond ring to a lucky volunteer who will ring the bell for The Salvation army. There will be a drawing the week of Christmas on Monday Dec. 22 on KWBW at 7:15am. However, you must get registered by this Sunday to qualify.

The other ways to help are to give. Give into the red kettle, donate online at GiveWithJoyHutch.com, through the mail, or drop off a donation at their office at 700 N Walnut. Today is also the last $20 Bill Match Day! Let’s help The Salvation Army cross the finish line as they help so many in need throughout the year.
