HUTCHINSON, Kan. — Westlake Ace Hardware plans to close its store at 215 S. Main St. in Hutchinson after remodeling and expanding its North Main Street location.
The company said the South Main store will be merged with the Westlake Ace Hardware location at 1304 N. Main St., a little more than a mile away.
“Westlake Ace Hardware has called Hutchinson home for many years, and that isn’t changing,” Jeremy Van Ommeren, corporate vice president of stores for Ace Retail Group, said in a statement. “What is changing is our commitment to offering our customers something even better.”
The North Main store is expected to undergo a full remodel and expansion, with the company planning to add new departments and product lines.
The grand reopening is scheduled for early May, 2027.

A Westlake Ace Hardware employee confirmed the North Main store is expected to remain open during the remodel, with work being completed by department.
The South Main location is tentatively expected to close in summer 2027, following an inventory sell-down earlier in the year.
Company officials said all store associates at the South Main location will be able to relocate to the North Main store or elsewhere in the nearby Wichita market.
“Our store at 1304 North Main will be fully remodeled and expanded into a new kind of hardware destination that offers a fresh and elevated shopping experience for our customers,” Van Ommeren said.
Westlake Ace Hardware said it remains committed to Hutchinson customers and plans to continue offering service, advice and products for home improvement projects.
