WICHITA, Kan. — Wichita State men's basketball will host Murray State in a preseason charity scrimmage Wednesday at Charles Koch Arena, with tipoff scheduled for 6:30 p.m.
The Shockers are hosting a charity exhibition for the second consecutive season, with proceeds benefiting two local organizations: Cheese Johnson's uJump Junior Mentoring Program and the Wichita Children's Home.
General admission tickets are $20, while fans 18 and younger and Wichita State faculty can purchase tickets for $10. Wichita State students can attend for free by claiming tickets online. Parking at Charles Koch Arena will also be free.
Murray State, a member of the Missouri Valley Conference, is entering its second season under head coach Ryan Miller. The Racers finished 20-13 last season, including a 12-8 conference record and a third-place finish in the MVC standings.
Wednesday's matchup marks just the second meeting between the programs. Wichita State won the only previous contest, 87-77, in 1953.
The Wichita Children's Home provides emergency shelter and support services to more than 1,800 children and young people annually. The uJump program, founded by former Wichita State All-American Lynbert "Cheese" Johnson, provides mentoring and educational opportunities for fourth- through seventh-grade students.
Tickets are available at GoShockers.com/Tickets. Wednesday's scrimmage is not included in Wichita State's season ticket package.
