Deborah “Debbie” Jeanne Gehring, 66, South Hutchinson, passed away on November 25, 2021, at her home, after a long battle of cancer. She was born April 18, 1955, in Hutchinson, to Owen and Oral (Hughbanks) Hodges.
Debbie was very close to her two daughters, Nichole Clary (Matthew) of Wichita and Natalie Torrey (Caleb) of Saint George. They were fortunate to spend quality time with her often. She cherished her granddaughters and their extended families; Peyton Jerauld Brand (Dustin) of Hutchinson, Katelyn Forkell (Sam McCullers) of Hutchinson, and Clarissa Torrey, Vivian Torrey and Ruby Torrey of Saint George, Carsyn Stewart, Windy Brand and Ivy McCullers of Hutchinson.She also leaves behind an older brother, Gary Hodges (Cherry) of Lyons, KS and close friends and family members that she cared for dearly.
Debbie was preceded in death by her parents, sister- Sharon Moore of Abbyville, KS and brother- Donald Hodges of Lyons, KS.
On May 5, 2007, she married Dennis Gehring of Moundridge. He survives. Together they enjoyed going to auctions, shopping for antiques and caring for their yard. Some of her favorite memories were spent playing softball and bowling with friends.
Debbie graduated from Nickerson High School in 1973 and retired from Pools Plus in 2016. She was a member of Eastwood Church of Christ since she was a young girl.
Memorial service will be 10 a.m. Saturday, December 4, 2021, at Elliott Mortuary, with Wayne DeWindt officiating. Friends may sign the book from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday, at Elliott Mortuary.
