HUTCHINSON, Kan. — The continued dispute over control over the Yaeger gun range is not likely to extend or hinder other areas of negotiation between City Manager Jeff Cantrell and County Administrator Randy Partington.

That's the word from Cantrell in an email to Hutch Post. He plans to ask the Hutchinson City Council for a date for a joint meeting with the Board of Reno County Commissioners.

The two dates county officials told Partington they could do were Tuesday the 20th after the city's meeting and Tuesday the 27th after the county's meeting.

Cantrell said a conversation between the two administrative leaders went well Friday.

County commissioners told Partington last Tuesday that they don't want a joint meeting to be about the gun range specifically, but rather about general principles that will help them all work together.
