Kathryn Elaine Davenport, 79, of Hutchinson, died December 3, 2021, at Wesley Medical Center, Wichita. She was born February 23, 1942, in Lyons, to Frank B. and Melba L. (Smith) Runyan.

Elaine graduated from Windom High School in 1960 and Hutchinson Community College. She worked in the accounting department of Kwik Shop and also as a Kwik Shop store manager. Elaine then became a co-owner and operator of Gambino’s Pizza at various locations, including South Hutchinson for 15 years. She enjoyed gardening, painting, and crafting, but her favorite hobby was her grandchildren. Elaine was of the Christian faith.

On October 11, 1963, she married John W. Davenport, in Hutchinson. They shared 58 years of marriage. He survives.

Also surviving are: daughter, Karmen Davenport of Manhattan; son, Jason Davenport and wife Angie of Hutchinson; grandchildren, Abbie and Griffin Davenport; brothers, Steve Runyan and friend Sharon Watson of Caldwell, Royce and LeAnn Runyan of Cape Fair, MO; and many extended family members.

Elaine was preceded in death by her parents and a grandson, John Grayson Davenport.

Cremation has taken place. Memorial service will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, December 10, 2021, at Elliott Chapel. Private family burial will follow in Bean Memorial Cemetery, Little River. Friends may sign the memorial book from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday thru Thursday, with family present to receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Elliott Mortuary.
