Donna Mae Lackey, 93, died July 10, 2021, at Pleasant Hills, Hutchinson. She was born May 22, 1928, in McPherson County, to Frank and Ella (Stecher) Wittorff.

Donna Mae attended Wolf Creek Grade School and graduated from Inman Rural High School in 1946. She grew up on a farm, and continued living the farm life after she was married. Donna Mae loved farming, and helping her husband, Milton, milk cows and raise sheep, hogs, and chickens. She also enjoyed cooking for her family (she was known for her homemade angel food cakes), and sewing. Donna Mae lived on the farm until 2013, when she moved to Pleasant View Retirement Community, Inman.

On October 15, 1946, Donna Mae married a neighbor boy, who was also a sailor; Milton K. Lackey, in Inman. He died November 2, 1997, after they shared over 51 years of marriage living on their family farm.

Donna Mae is survived by: children, Connie Neufeld (Fred) of Inman, Harlan Lackey, Betty Van Osdol, both of Hutchinson, Karen Fast (Dave) of Waxahachie, TX, Marsha Capps (Dale) of Inman, and Pamela Branham (David) of Kansas City, MO; 13 grandchildren, Jennafer, Elizabeth, Dennis, Sarah, Clinton, Jebadiah, Eric, Andy, Terrence, Lonnie, Jesse, Nathan, and Rachel; and 22-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and a brother, Melvin “Mike” Wittorff.

Funeral service will be 1:00 p.m. Friday, July 16, 2021, at Elliott Chapel. Burial will follow in Fairlawn Burial Park, Hutchinson. Friends may call from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, with the family present from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Elliott Mortuary.
