Robert Leon “Bob” DeWater, 64, of South Hutchinson, died March 31, 2021, at Ascension Via Christi-St. Francis, Wichita. He was born May 28, 1956, in Tulsa, OK, to Merel Allen and Lois Berniece (Lunnam) DeWater.

Robert attended Nickerson schools, and received his GED. He worked most of his life as a machinist, primarily for Eaton Corporation and Consolidated Manufacturing. In his earlier years, Robert resided in Burrton, where he volunteered as a Burrton fireman, served on the Burrton EMS team, and their 4th of July Committee. He loved to dance, play pool, laugh, and entertain his grandchildren. Robert stood by his family, through all the peaks and valleys of their lives, with his unconditional love for his children and grandchildren. His family was blessed to have him as their father and grandpa and will miss him deeply.

Robert is survived by: daughter, Heather DeWater of South Hutchinson; grandchildren, Katelyn Potter of Chase, Devin DeWater-Potter of Hutchinson, and Kent Faudel of Wichita; and great-grandchildren, Braxton Hill and Alice DeWater.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and daughter, Jenny DeWater.

Cremation has taken place and there will be no services at this time.
