Robert “Bob” Jones, 80, of Mount Hope, KS, passed away at his home. He was born November 23, 1940 in McPherson, KS, the son of Emery and Margaret (Hart) Jones.
Bob owned and operated Bob’s Auto Sales in Mount Hope. He loved working with his hands and could build anything, from motors, cars and carpentry. He was very meticulous and built many pieces of furniture and was always building something unique for his home and kids. He enjoyed being outside, nature and animals, but most of all loved the sunshine. He was very proud of his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren, where he found his most joy, as he was always a kid at heart. He spoke out loud to JC as if he was right there beside him in person. Bob lived life to the fullest.
Bob is survived by his wife of 44 years, Janet (Venters) Jones; son, Todd Jones (Amanda); daughters, Christi Moore (Justin), Debra Rhodenbaugh (Rick), and Sandra Brackett (Michael); grandchildren, Madi Russ (Cody), Jocelyn Jones, Chole and Megan Moore, Dustin Roberts (Ann), Alisha Elliot (Jason), Travis Rhodenbaugh (Alexis), Lindsey Hall (Matthew), and Shaun Brackett (Amanda); and 13 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by, his parents; a sister, Belva Swain; a brother, Cliff Magazine; and a great grandson, Carson Hall.
Cremation is planned. Private family services will be held. Memorials may be made to Mount Hope Nursing Center, in care of Ott Funeral Home, PO Box 217, Haven, KS 67543.
