
SHAWNEE COUNTy —Law enforcement authorities are investigating two suspects for burglary thanks to an alert citizen.
Just after 4:00 a.m. Monday, the Shawnee County Emergency Communications Center received a call about a man and woman that were seen breaking into a vehicle at an apartment complex at 3720 SW 29th Street in Topeka, according to police spokesperson Gretchen Spiker.
Officers responded a short time later and located two people matching the description of the suspects. They were taken into custody at the scene.

Numerous stolen items were recovered and as a result of the investigation, police booked Michael D. Delaney, 31 of Silver Lake and Shelby L. Whitaker, 23 of Topeka into the Shawnee County Department of Corrections on requested charges of Burglary; Vehicle Theft < $1,500, From Motor Vehicle.
