WICHITA, Kan. – The Basketball Tournament (TBT), the 64-team, $1 million winner-take-all event, announced today that Wichita will serve as one of the regional and quarterfinal locations for the 2024 event, hosted by Visit Wichita and Wichita State University.

AfterShocks, the Wichita State alumni team, will return as the featured team in the eight-team Wichita Regional. Commitments for the 2024 AfterShocks roster currently includes Conner Frankamp and Markis McDuffie.

The 2024 Wichita Regional will be played at Charles Koch Arena, July 20-24. TBT's quarterfinal game in Wichita will take place July 30.

This summer will be the fifth year Wichita has hosted a TBT regional and third hosting a quarterfinals, continuing its reign as the longest running location in TBT's 11-year history.

Last summer, Wichita State set a new TBT single-game attendance record, as 7,202 fans showed up to support AfterShocks in their quarterfinals matchup against TBT 2023 Champions Heartfire. Wichita State owns four of TBT's top-five attendance records, and seven of TBT's top-10.

"This marks the fifth summer TBT has come to Wichita, and it's an annual reminder of the passion and excitement the city of Wichita has for basketball and the Shockers," said Wichita State senior associate athletic director Brad Pittman. "We look forward to putting on a great show once again in 2024."

"Our event owes so much to Wichita State University and its fans," said TBT founder and CEO Jon Mugar. "The Roundhouse has been home to some of our best and most electrifying Elam Endings ever.  We look forward to working with the Athletic Department and Visit Wichita again to break more records this summer."

AfterShocks have been one of the best teams in TBT since they joined the event in 2019, including two quarterfinals and one semifinals appearance in the last three years.

Zach Bush, J.R. Simon, and Garrett Stutz will return as the co-general managers for AfterShocks in 2023, while Bush will serve as the team's head coach for the fourth straight summer. Since taking over as head coach in 2021, AfterShocks have amassed a record of 10-3.

AfterShocks will make additional roster announcements in the spring via their social media pages, @AfterShocksTBT. Tickets for the 2024 Wichita Regional will go on sale at a later date. To be the first to secure tickets for the event, fans can sign up for TBT's waitlist at thetournament.com/tbt/tickets/.
