
JACKSON COUNTY —Law enforcement authorities are investigating two suspects on numerous charges after a traffic stop.
Just after 2a.m. Thursday, sheriff’s deputies stopped a Honda Civic for a traffic infraction that was northbound near 254th and U.S. Highway 75, according to Sheriff Tim Morse.
Further investigation revealed that the pair were allegedly in possession of illegal narcotics. Deputies arrested the driver, Daniel Lee Willits, 44, of Lawrence and booked him into the Jackson County Jail on requested charges of possession of a firearm by a felon, possession of a controlled substance and criminal use of weapons.

Deputies also arrested the passenger, Misty Dawn Jane Napier, 24, of Lawrence, and booked her into the Jackson County Jail on requested charges for possession of methamphetamine and no drug tax stamp, according to Morse.
