RENO COUNTY SHERIFF'S OFFICE
The Reno County Sheriff's Office would like to express to all that we have been receiving reports of people claiming to be employed by the Reno County Sheriff's Office and are requesting money.
These individuals have used the names Sergeant Brian Colling, Commander Brian Richardson, and an Officer Cloose.
They are telling people that they have FTA charges, Direct Contempt charges, or just owe fines. They have requested payment by Bitcoin using "bitcoin machines."
These individuals also have sent forged paperwork with the individuals name on it and the Reno County Sheriff's Badge on it to try and make it look legitimate.
If the Sheriff's Office or the Reno County District Court needs to send you paperwork it will be sent through mail. As a reminder to all, the Sheriff's Office will never request payment of any kind including bitcoin, gift cards, or other currency over the phone.
