
Jimmie Doyle Symonds, 82, of Hutchinson, died May 14, 2021, at Hospice House. He was born March 6, 1939, in Ramona, OK, to Orville K. and Dorothy M. (Davis) Symonds.
Jimmie owned and operated Symonds Painting, in Hutchinson, for over 30 years, before retiring at the age of 72. After retirement, he enjoyed yardwork and spending time with his family. Jimmie attended Westside Baptist Church and was a member of Loyal Order of Moose #982. He was a very loving and devoted husband, father, and grandfather, and will be missed dearly by everyone that knew him.
On August 16, 1958, Jimmie married Jackie L. Swanson, in Enid, OK. She survives.
Also surviving are: daughter, Dorthea Wooten (Eddie); sister, Billie Steele, all of Hutchinson; 8 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; 1 great-grandchild on the way; and numerous extended family members.
He was preceded in death by: his sons, Doyle and Dale Symonds; and brother, Kenneth Symonds.
Cremation has taken place and a private family inurnment will take place in Memorial Park Cemetery.
A Come and Go Reception to celebrate Jimmie’s life will be held from 1-4 p.m., Saturday, May 22, 2021, at the Masonic Lodge, 1800 E. 23rd Ave., Hutchinson.
Friends may sign his memorial book from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday – Friday at Elliott Mortuary.
