Case count below 100 for first time in months, still zero in hospital

HUTCHINSON, Kan. — The overall COVID-19 case count in Reno County is at 99 as of Thursday. The death count among Reno County residents is at 138. The last time we were below a hundred active cases overall was September 16.

Out of 7,715 total cases since the beginning of the pandemic, there have been 7,478 recoveries. There are 8 clusters still being monitored. The long-term care facility cluster type is down to just three active cases.

No Reno County residents are in the hospital with COVID-19 as of Tuesday afternoon. The last time Reno County went this long without a COVID-19 hospitalization was last summer.

The Positive Test Rate rolling average is at 7.0%, which leaves schools in the yellow for gating criteria for another week.

Drive-thru testing is currently available at the Kansas Cosmosphere at 1100 N Plum in Hutchinson.
