Gastineau sweeps in American Sprint Car series as Salt City Racing wraps 2025 season

The 2025 racing season came to a close Saturday night at Salt City Racing in Hutchinson, with fans treated to an exciting finale featuring strong competition across multiple classes.

In the American Sprint Car Series 360 Winged division, Whit Gastineau of Moore, Oklahoma, capped off his year with a dominant performance, going back-to-back to sweep the weekend at Salt City. Gastineau led the field through both the dash and the 20-lap feature, fending off Brady Baker of Alexander, Arkansas, and Matt Covington of Glenpool, Oklahoma, who rounded out the podium. Sam Hafertepe Jr. of Sunnyvale, Texas, finished fourth, followed by Quinter’s Zach Blurton in fifth.

Gastineau’s clean sweep solidified his late-season momentum, showcasing the precision and control that made him a standout among the ASCS National field.

In Stock Car action, veteran racer John Allen of Chanute, Kansas, claimed the 20-lap A Feature victory, edging out Mike Petersilie of Hoisington for the top spot. Hutchinson’s Scott Miller drove a steady race to finish third, followed by fellow locals Tanner Thiel in fourth and Chris Pitts in fifth.

The night’s earlier Stock Car Dash saw Rodney Schweizer of Kansas City take the win over Allen and Petersilie, setting the stage for an exciting feature that closed out the local stock division’s 2025 campaign.
