NEWTON, Kan. — The Hutchinson Monarchs outhit the Newton Rebels for 22 runs, including 10 in the 7th inning alone, in a 22-2 win in Newton on Saturday.
Every Monarch that batted drove in at least one run, led by Jordan Ardoin's 4 for 5 day with 5 RBI. Chaney Dodge drove in four runs, Cole Cosman had three RBI. With the win the Monarchs win the Sunflower Baseball league and earn a berth the the 2021 NBC World Series starting August 4th in Hutchinson.
The Monarchs are 28-9. Newton is 12-26. The two teams play Sunday at 6 p.m. at Hobart-Detter Field.
