Evan L. Evans, 89, passed away Wednesday, June 23, 2021 at Diversicare in Hutchinson, KS.

Evan was born December 5, 1931 in rural Osage County, KS, the son of Howard T. and Evelyn A. (Lloyd) Evans. In November 1951 he enlisted in the United States Air Force and served in the Korean War. He was honorably discharged in November 1955. On September 3, 1951 he married Patricia Payne in Ottawa, KS.

Evan was a 1949 graduate of Lebo High School and graduated Kansas State Teachers College (ESU) earning his Bachelor of Science Degree. Evan worked at State Bank of Lebo as an Assistant Cashier and retired after 31 years. He was also a business teacher for USD #10 for 7 years. He was a member of VFW, American Legion and the Lions Club in Lebo, KS. He was also a member of Lebo Methodist Church. He was the Director of Senior Citizens Federal Housing in Lebo, was on the Osage County Planning Board and was the treasure of the City of Lebo as well as treasure of USD #243-Lebo/Waverly.

Evan is survived by his wife, Pat; daughters, Connie (Roy) Horton and Chrystal (Frank) Milazzo; a sister, Mary Evans Becker Ervin; two grandchildren, Evan M. (Dave Sanchez) Chorney and Bart (Amy) Horton; five great grandchildren, Clive, Vera, Tali, Burton and Hudson Horton; a sister-in-law, Terri Evans, and a daughter-in-law, Shelby Evans Mick.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a son, Evan Eugene Evans; a brother, Dean H. Evans; and brothers-in-law, Jerry Ervin and Don Becker.

A Graveside Service will be held at 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, June 29, 2021 at Arvonia Township Cemetery, Osage County, KS, with Pastor Barton Horton officiating. A family visitation will be held directly after the service. Military honors will be conducted by the Unites States Air Force Honor Guard. Memorials may be given to Lebo American Legion, Lebo Lions Club or Honor Flights for Veterans and can be sent in care of Hutchinson Funeral Chapel, 300 E. 30th Ave. Hutchinson, KS. 67502.
