The Hutchinson Community College women's soccer team matched its highest ranking of the season on Monday, returning to the No. 12 spot in the latest NJCAA Division I National Rankings.

The Blue Dragons were 1-0 last week with one suspended game because of weather. Hutchinson defeated Seward County 5-2 on Saturday at the Salthawk Soccer Complex. The Blue Dragons were leading Dodge City 3-1 last Wednesday at Don Michael Field when inclement weather forced the game to be stopped with 10:49 remaining in the first half.

The Blue Dragons are 5-1 overall and 2-1 (6 points) in the KJCCC, which puts them in third place.

Hutchinson has a pair of key road games this week, traveling to Butler at 7 p.m. on Wednesday and to Garden City at 1 p.m. on Saturday.

The Blue Dragons were No. 12 two weeks ago, but dropped one spot last week after a 2-1 loss to Cowley at home. Hutchinson opened the season ranked No. 15 in the preseason rankings.

The Blue Dragons extended their record of consecutive weeks in the national rankings with their 23rd-straight appearance in the poll, which dates back to the 2023 season.

In addition to the Blue Dragons moving up one spot, KJCCC leader Cowley moves up one spot to No. 17 this week. Garden City dropped out of the Top 20 this week, but is still receiving votes.

The Top 5 this week has Daytona State at No. 1, followed by Arizona Western, Navarro, Salt Lake and Seminole State.
