The American Red Cross is urging Hutchinson residents to roll up their sleeves and donate blood during a community blood drive beginning today.
You can donate blood today from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Park Place Christian Church, located at 2600 N. Adams in Hutchinson.
Then, starting on Monday the blood drive moves to Our Redeemer Lutheran Church, 407 E. 12th Ave.:
• Monday, Aug. 4: 12 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.
• Tuesday, Aug. 5: 11 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
• Wednesday, Aug. 6: 7 a.m. to 1 p.m.
As an added incentive, all donors who give blood between August 1 and August 28 will receive a $15 e-gift card to a merchant of their choice. In addition, the Red Cross will provide free A1C testing, which helps screen for prediabetes and diabetes. This test is available to successful donors and limited to one result per person every 12 months.
To schedule an appointment, visit RedCrossBlood.org, call 1-800-RED CROSS, or use the Blood Donor App with the sponsor code Hutchinson.
With high summer demand and ongoing blood shortages, the Red Cross says every donation counts.
