HUTCHINSON, Kan. — The Hutchinson Fire Department responded to the unit block of West 16th Monday afternoon for the report of a fire in a two-story duplex.&nbsp;

First arriving units found the duplex with smoke coming from the front entry way and the back of the home. Crews attacked inside and kept the fire to a single bedroom. There was smoke damage throughout the remainder of the home.&nbsp;

The fire is still under investigation. The home was occupied by three people. All three were able to get out safely and were not hurt. One firefighter was taken to the hospital for weather related heat exposure.
