BUHLER, Kan. — The Buhler City Council recently approved an increase to it's water rates to support several major infrastructure projects.
The new rates will take effect May 19 and are intended to help fund upgrades to the city’s aging water system, improve water quality and meet rising demand.
According to city officials, the additional revenue will support the purchase of water rights, replacement of an aging water line, installation of smart meters for more accurate billing and leak detection, repairs and painting of the water tower, and the construction of a new line to support operational needs.
