Gerald (Jerry) Stucky, 88, passed away on Wednesday, August 19, 2020 at Mennonite Manor Retirement Home in South Hutchinson. He was September 5, 1931, Newton, KS, the son of Floyd and Ruth (Kaegi) Stucky and grew up in Moundridge, KS.

On July 22, 1951, Gerald was united in marriage with Roberta (his wife what’s her name) Robinson, in Hutchinson. Jerry was a veteran of the Korean War. Besides being a remarkable father to three girls (which he claimed caused the loss of his hair) he worked for the U.S. Postal Service in Hutchinson and Inman, retiring as the Inman Postmaster. Upon retiring the City of Inman declared “Jerry Stucky Day” by shutting down the city to celebrate his service to the community. As a food vendor at the Kansas State Fair for over forty years, he was known by many in the Pronto Pub business as he was the J in D&J Pronto Pup. Jerry volunteered for many years in PTA, Reno County Elections and on the Board of Hutchinson Postal Credit Union. Jerry enjoyed bringing joy to many children as he played the role of Santa.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and brother Byron.

Jerry is survived by his three daughters, Patsy (Tony) Mourn, Shari (Richard) Westphal and Ruth (Bob) Powell; brother Keith Stucky of California; sister, Lois (Walt) Waechter of Oklahoma; 17 grandchildren, Angie Elliott, Shawna Lindsey, Justin Mourn, Tonya Good, Nick Mourn, Alisha Johnson, Jennifer Mabry, Zachary Gagnebin, Katie Bechtle, Julie Westphal, Jodi Mirabal, Ryan Rank, Sara Mae, Sondra Powell, Bethany Plush, Destiny Powell and Journey Powell; 33 great grandchildren and four great- great grandchildren.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to Saint Jude Children’s Hospital or South Hutchinson United Methodist Church and can be sent in care of Hutchinson Funeral Chapel, 300 E. 30th Ave., Hutchinson, KS 67502.
